Yup summer is here with a vengeance, but we got things done, kept cool in the shade and a fun dart night.

Where are we today ?

Starting off with a wonderful bright sunny morning and the beginning of a heat wave here. Feels like 41C = 106f) and 44 C =-111F tomorrow.) we will manage to keep cool in the shade, maybe a swim in the pool and may even need to fire up our air conditioner, nice that we have the power to do so now. I actually did turn it on for a while, the heat bothers Suzie much more than me.
Our friends Rob and Pat sent a few pictures of the Mini golf course when the construction had begun when we weren't here. It was looking pretty tired and needed an upgrade, coming along nicely, now useable but some more landscaping needs to be done.
open for business
looks better now
Before it got too warm I lubricated our automatic steps and cleaned and lubed our hydraulic levelling jacks which I do 4-5 times a year, maintenance pays off.
Then pick up a couple things at the store and a couple loads of laundry right across from our camp sight. Got to read for a while and chat with a few people that stopped by this afternoon, nice to catch up again. We had nice breeze and a shady spot outside so was quite comfortable as long as we not working.
Tucker stopped by with his Dad,
Doggie fix for Suzie
Its been a few weeks since I last trimmed my hair and beard. So I tackle that (always outside so no mess in the house) and Suzie can finish the trimming for me. Easy cheap and quick, works for me, no more hat head. Even had time to read for a while in the shade as well.
Shortly after 3 pm I spiced up pork ribs, layered with sauerkraut, wrapped in foil and on the Weber Q, low and slow, couple hours is about right, first in sauerkraut, then glaze with a sticky BBQ sauce on the grill mat. (the mat makes for easy cleanup) For the recipe click HERE or my recipe blog top right side bar. Then just add a small salad and we are good to go. Our friend Ron stopped by to chat for a bit while I was cooking the ribs. Snapped a few pics of me doing my stuff, lol.

At 6:45 tonight down to the clubhouse for a round of darts, every Thursday here in the summer, always a fun time for a couple hours, neither me nor Suzie won but we sure had quite a few laughs. Met some new people and also people we have not seen for a long time.

nice sunset in the trees
That was it for a great hot summer day, overcast mostly, hot and humid but windy so in the shade felt wonderful.
Hope y'all had a wonderful day too, and were able to keep comfortable no matter what the weather.

  1. Are you sure you aren't in AZ? We are in Idaho and it is in the 90s. You look pretty good all spiffed up with a little help from Suzie.

    1. Foil does work but I like the mat even better, it is non stick, reusable, easy to clean and leaves grill marks.

    1. They have had some rain in this area so not too bad, the farmers could use some more though.
