Where are we today ?

Today is the day that Suzie and I said our vows 23 years ago. And what a memorable day that was for both of us. She is my soul mate, lover, best friend, navigator and travelling buddy. She also keeps me out of trouble. Took us a while to find each other but what a match this is! We have shared an amazing life together so far and have been living all of our dreams to date. More dreams to fulfill in our future years as well.
The wedding and reception was at her her Sister's and Brother In law's place in Tavistock. Reception in the huge shed with 135 people attending. We had a pig roast as well as prime rib(cooked by a good friend Rick), her mother made some amazing salads and another good friend of ours (professional Photographer and DJ) took all our wedding pictures as well as took care of the music and dancing for us. We left the reception at midnight, drove to Toronto, got a hotel room for a couple hours sleep then flew to Miami for our first Caribbean cruise together. The rest is history, we are on a journey of a lifetime.

Yup that's us July 10th 1993 |
So peaceful here love the quiet country side in and around Plattsville. After breakfast and coffees my first early walkabout shortly after 7 am the sun is shining and clear blue skies, The air is still and the mourning doves cooing. What a perfect way to start the day.
heading into town for a walkabout on the paved roads in the shade |
Then about 10 am I whipped up a salad to take over to Suzie's brothers and SIL Sandy for lunch. With them and her Dad.
they had some wonderful flowers there |
Like I mentioned the other day I had picked up some Pickerel(Walleye) in Aurora for a very good price. And we all love Pickerel. I took over 3 lbs to feed the 5 of us. I got to cook that up in the Weber 2200 (larger than ours). So seasoned with Old Bay spice, fresh lemon and parsley I set in on the preheated grill, on a foil lined cookie sheet with the lid close for about 30 minutes.
much bigger than our Q100 |
on the Weber ready to go |
In the meantime Suzie spent some time with her Dad and brother. |
And Sandy baked a fresh strawberry/rhubarb custard pie with a gluten free crust, Baked some taters in the oven and some cooked carrots.
my favorite type of pie |
fish is done |
oh so good ! |
No healthy eating today, sour cream on a baked potato, tarter sauce of the fish, and a small piece of pie. At least we had a salad and baked fish.
the pie was awesome |
Mid afternoon a nice country drive back to camp awesome (John's Place) along river road through the bush, love these country roads here.
River Road |
Once here it is a pretty hot afternoon (low 90's I think) and no breeze perfect for a nice refreshing dip in the pool.
What a perfect way to celebrate our anniversary. Nice lunch with family then the rest of the day is all ours.
Got to read some in the shade |
No supper tonight, but I did find a couple of caramel ice cream drumbsticks in the freezer, so we really spoiled ourselves today.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by for a peak and just know you had an amazing Sunday as well.
