This is too darn cold for us, and we miss the sunny blue skies.

Where are we today ?

Yep it's cold.. 21f (-6c) but with the wind at 24 mph (38 kph) feels like 4f (-15c) and overcast skies. Not going out there for my morning walk, thank you very much! And I have been missing my daily walks, but I can fix that over to the Wilmot Center and indoor walking track. Got an hour done and 3 miles, feel better now. Thanks to Suzie's Sister Rose and her husband Ross for the loan of their old pickup truck while staying here. This Old truck is much newer than anything we own. Bonus to it has a remote start like we had in our cars way back when. Nice to get into a warm vehicle in this cold weather.
Nice ride
Over to the Wilmot Centre for my indoor walkabout.
yup its chilly
They have a 2 indoor ice pads for hockey and 2 large indoor swimming pools with the track upstairs, very nice. I spent a lot of time here last winter too.
The indoor track 12 laps is one mile
I dropped off a suit that I had now many sizes too large for me at the New Hamburg Thrift Centre in town . I have kept it long enough.
Next stop the No Frills grocery store pick up some food that we like to eat, need to get back into our healthy eating mode again, regain some energy and feel better. Of course while shopping there I ran into 2 separate friends doing the same Brian and Debbie. Of course they know why I am here they read the blog, small world it is.
For those interested this is the breakfast casserole I fixed for Sunday brunch added a fruit tray and a veggie tray plus some fresh buns. For the recipe click HERE  or my recipe blog on the top right sidebar.
everyone fed and leftovers
At least there is no snow on the ground right now, just bitter cold especially for us after just coming in from Yuma Arizona. Still better than it was last winter when we were here.
no snow is nice
Then this afternoon I picked up the keys for Rose and Ross's place they are flying back to Florida and their rental house for a while so we will move to Tavistock and house sit there until we head back to Southern Arizona.
Got some reading done then whip up supper. For us I am making some baked fish and a salad. And we also have leftovers for those that need it. Dennis and Sandy here as well and Levi, Suzie's Dad. Sure hit the spot.
But now it is beginning to snow! Yuk!
But the fireplace air tight insert adds some wonderful warmth to the house, nothing like a wood stove for heat.
nice
Fish is done
Tasty salad and coleslaw, hit the spot
Supper done and Suzie's Dad heads home. We did have a bit of snow and is supposed to snow all night. Glad we don't have to go anywhere.
Now we can relax a bit more and  think we will call it a night. Nice to take it easy after a busy few days here.
Glad you stopped by for a peek, hope you had a great day too .

  2. Oh my... that food all looks so good! The snow? Well... it looks good to me since we're in Mexico. I know this is a hard trip north, but am glad that you're managing it okay. A hard trip that none of wants to make, but is often inevitable. I just wish you peace and safe travels.

  3. Hang in there George sunny warm days ahead for you guys soon. Say hello to Tavistock for me. I grew up in the big brick house beside the Vet Clinic on Hope Street south. Where Tim Hortons is now is where the old Tavistock train station once stood. This is the spot where my story about 'The Rock' began. The original station is a house now on Jacob Street east, south side & second building in from Woodstock Street. A little trivia for you check out on your morning walk:))

  5. OK that is way too cold for SoCal! But embrace the warmth of your family and friends, share your strength and adventures, then come back to where it's a bit warmer.

    1. Charlie, the indoor walking track is nice in this cold weather, I think if you are a service dog you can walk here too.
The remote start is nice to heat you car in the winter or cool it in the summer, pretty nice I tell ya. Think you need to get with the program down there.
