Where are we today ?
You know the routine if you have been following us. Up early computing, coffees, walkabouts, waiting for the sunrise.
The early morning walkabout gave me another wonderful desert sunrise.
Now daylight I can whip down the road for a few food supplies. Home by 8:30 am.
We are allowed to wash our vehicles here, no charge.Hmm. Got me wondering, how come? Probably very hard water = water spots. So I did a very thorough wash of our car. It was filthy. Yep as I suspected major water spots. Not a big deal on the car, but not doing our coach.

sunrise in the foothills |
Car needed a major cleaning inside and out. Has not been done since October last year. Washed the whole thing even the engine, inside the doors and almost needed a shovel to get the dirt/dust from inside. Armour-all the inside too. Looks pretty good after a few hours having fun and exercise. Suzie worked on the coach yesterday when we got here, vacuum, dust, wipe, wash we are almost like new.
Few more walkabouts the resort. So quiet here and we can read in the shade for a while. Love the peace and quiet !
Now every winter we are here notice the dry air. This one cupboard door dries out and shrinks. About a 1/4 inch gap. When we reach higher humidity there is no gap.
Soon time to whip us supper. Tonight some BBQ pork ribs, For the recipe click HERE or my recipe blog top right sidebar. When they are done I put them on my grill mat and slather with sauce. The mat keeps the grill clean.
Added to a tasty salad and was amazing fall off the bone sticky tender spareribs.
Glad that y'all, stopped by for a peak and hope your day was wonderful too.
still looks good for 14 years old and 400km (248 K miles on it ) |
love blue skies and sunshine |

Then we got to enjoy another amazing desert sunset.
A very relaxing day here in this over the top "resort". Not for us but was free for 3 nights and that includes free wifi and cable tv if you like. We do like our satellite dish though.Glad that y'all, stopped by for a peak and hope your day was wonderful too.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Fall and Winter..
The car looks amazing! Just like those reeeyubs! Yummy. Maybe some pictures of Suzie's hard work tomorrow??? Hehehe.
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice productive day.
DeleteWanted to take a pic of her working, but no go..lol...
That's your spring cleaning done then.
ReplyDeleteThat's most of it done, still want to shampoo the carpets and and couch yet.
DeleteGlad you are enjoying the warmth and blue skies. We're sliding in the wrong direction.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
It is wonderful here, love it .
DeleteFree is good. We're having a few problems with Arizona reservations right now due to holidays and spring breaks. I guess we should have made them earlier. We need a place to be able to wash our rigs. Many places don't allow that.
ReplyDeleteCampgrounds here pretty empty. We just made a reservation yesterday for St David Resort this weekend.
DeleteWas gonna wash the coach but the water is pretty hard don't want a spotty coach.
All of the dust is the one negative I can see for staying in the desert.
ReplyDeleteIt is only dirt, and easy to make it go away small price to pay for a warm sunny winter, next to no rain and bugs.
DeleteSunrise to sunset...just doesn't get any better!
ReplyDeleteSo true, pretty perfect.
DeleteWhat do you use to clean the hardwater spots? I've had minimal luck with vinegar and distilled water, but do not want to use the abrasive compounds. The car looks great!
ReplyDeleteFor the hard water spots I use a chamois (if I have one) or a dry towel. Just re wet the vehicle and dry it off. Works pretty good, Don't let it dry too long in the sun. Or clean the windows with windex and you can re wax the car. I wax the car a couple times a year but not this time. only takes 20 minutes with protectal or Meguiars liquid.
DeleteThanks I'll give that a try ....It sure does not come clean with a good washing.
DeleteOr better yet you can give me a demonstration :)
wax-on; wax-off
ok will do.
DeleteWe have the opposite problem with too much humidity. Can't close our cabinet door tight and they squeak.
ReplyDeleteWe prefer the dry, easier breathing and arthritis much better.
