Where are we today ?
Had a great nights sleep and up by 5:30 am as usual. Don't want to miss any daylight hours ya know. Got our coffee fix and computing done then I head off into town to chat with the locals for a few minutes. Sure is a foggy morning, school buses cancelled today.
But back home we made a plan. Took the grass cutting machine down to road to mow some grass. And after a few errands the grass was almost dry by noon and I proceeded to start the process.
Suzie took her Dad and Mom to Stratford for some follow up appointments after his hip replacement surgery.
Grasshopper ready to go |
too much fun here |
almost done |
oops a bearing on the deck decided to quit |
At 5 pm have a grandson with a hockey practice in town so we gotta watch that for a while when we are in the area as well.
Arenas that we are used to , he is improving by leaps and bounds! |
Back home now and Sandy has a nice fire going, burning leaves in this huge fire pit that they have here. We joined her for a while, just because we could. But then time for me to whip up a bite to eat for supper.
Wonderful campfire |
hot pork sandwich, yummy |

Looks like a Cub Cadet on your trailer. Reliable mowers.
ReplyDeleteWhere are you headed this fall - winter?
Just fiuxed the Cub Cadet yesterday, now the Grasshopper needs attention.
DeleteHeaded to Arizona.
That fire looked nice...haven't had one yet, but it's getting time! Nights are cooler here in Georgia!
ReplyDeletePretty cool at nights here too. Just burning some leaves and a few pieces of wood
DeleteGeorge you are going to miss all that fun you are having cutting the grass. Maybe you should bring the Grass-hoper with you down South. Be Safe and Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt's about time.
Won't miss the lawn mowing, always have other things to do.
DeleteYou certainly did have a lot of fog. At least it looked like most of it cleared up. Looks like you're having way too much fun. Almost time for you to get those wheels rolling again.
ReplyDeleteCleared up wonderfully, I am having fun playing on the lawns here. Then we get going.
DeleteYou amaze me with your early mornings George! The odd time I wake up that early I find myself nodding off for a nap by 3:00.
ReplyDeleteI am good to go all day, just done by 9 o'clock.
DeleteWay too early in the morning for me but the fog was eerie and very pretty.
ReplyDeleteYes the fog is erie.
DeleteI don't know what you mean by...school buses cancelled. Is school closed too? When we taught, our schools had to provide transportation. If it was too foggy or snowy for the buses to run, school was canceled.
ReplyDeleteA fire sounds wonderful.
The majority of the students can walk to school, but the country kids need to be bused in from a few miles away. If to much fog or bag weather the buses will be cancelled, but school remains open.
DeleteAwww...that picture of the mower made me a little sad. We had a Grasshopper zero turn mower and I loved cutting the grass with it. It was such a zippy thing and so much fun to cut the grass with it.
ReplyDeleteYes is a fun way to mow the lawn, love it!
DeleteI imagine it is a safety issue with the school bus situation. better have the kids driven by parents or not go to school than have a school bus accident.
ReplyDeleteThat outdoor fire pit looks lovely and cozy.
Yes its all about safety thats for sure.
DeleteFire pit awesome!
A perfectly busy day, George, with a great meal to top it off.
ReplyDeleteYes it sure hit the spot, thats for sure.
