Where are we today ?
Happy Halloween weekend in this campground but boy is it cold! This morning the walkabout stuff, pick up a few groceries, then back home. Now it's cold, overcast and windy, highs about 1 C (34f). Thats just a tad above freezing and with a 25 mph NW west wind, its just plain cold! Did I say its raining too?
We spent a few hours today reviewing our itinerary for the winter, we could be making some major changes, not sure yet, but the way our lifestyle is we can do it.
Eventually with all this wind we had Bill help us stow and secure out awning. Better safe than sorry!
This is the big weekend here at Lazy Lakes, Halloween ! And Bill and Barbs children, and grand children all show up to get involved with this fun time here.
Got our propane fire pit out, secured a tarp to their awning for a wind break and all got better.
We all toasty warm here, almost. |
Can't believe that wagon rides were going in this cold rain |
Well after hanging around outside, chatting with the gang and getting colder we finally packed it in about 6 o'clock and came inside to warm up. To help us get warm I fired up our oven, and dressed up a frozen pizza to out specs, and had a nice tasty supper, perfect for a cold night.
We usually hand out candies to 250 or more children but we were down to about 150, which is quite a few considering the weather. Thanks for stopping by for a visit, that was it for our Halloween saturday, hope yours was a warmer and nicer weather than ours, but we had fun anywho.

Brrr. You need to be heading further south!
ReplyDeletewww.travelwithkevinandruth.com
We are slowly making our way there.
DeleteThat wind can really make it feel cold, can't it?
ReplyDeleteYes it can was brutal!
DeleteThe weather never stopped us when I was a child, and it looks like the kids were out in force.
ReplyDeleteI love to look at the kids and all their different costumes. They are just so cute.
As we get older really don't like the cold anymore. But do enjoy all the kids and their costumes.
DeleteIt looks like winter finally caught up with you. Those wheels didn't roll out of there fast enough. I'll be anxious to hear about your new winter plans.
ReplyDeleteI think the plans are one day at a time, we will see.
DeleteI think you need to speed up your slow travels South! Brrr! :cO
ReplyDeleteAwe we really are in no hurry to get anywhere, at lest we are on the way.
DeleteWe lucked out by having our celebration inside but when we went outside the wind cut right through us. Be Safe and Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt's about time.
The garage set up worked great for you guys.
DeleteWell, at least we got up to a whopping plus five. We still had cold, blowing miserable rain though. Gah!
ReplyDeleteKeep an eye on that propane.
We have lotsa propane , no problem
DeleteI really can't handle that kind of weather anymore. My old bones like warmth. But boy when I was young in Montana - weather did not stop the trick or treating. Usually we had snow but came home with our bags full.
ReplyDeleteWe did the same thing too years ago on Ontario Canada.
DeleteWhat a fun time.....warm fires and cute children! Add your yummy pizza and it's about perfect!
ReplyDeleteYes it was, other than too cold and windy.
DeleteI grew up just down the road from there, trick or treat is suppose to take place in the cold. As a kid, one of the good things about needing a heavy coat was no one really knew if I had a silly costume on or not:)
ReplyDeleteYep thats right, but hey we all had fun!
DeleteThe day started with rain, but the afternoon was somewhat sunny and temps around 50F. Not too bad here. But we will get the cold wind tomorrow I guess.
ReplyDeleteNo bonfire here, except in the basement oven. :))
Pizza, that is something I haven't had for quite a while.
We enjoy a pizza once in a while, even after making a couple hundred pizza's a week for 10 years.
