Where are we today ?
Wow did it rain this morning, having my first coffee about 6 am and it sure came down, raining cats and dogs as the saying goes. Sure sounded like them hitting our roof, thats for sure.
Lasted for quite a while just enough to make even more mud around our campsite.

raining cats and dogs |
|
our site even more muddy |
Even walking in the long grass it was slippery and muddy. Took the car out about 9 am and made deep ruts on the lawn in front of our coach with the tires spinning, thought for sure I would get stuck.
|
made a mess moving the car this morning |
|
pretty muddy under our tires |
Picked up a few things in town then we rounded up our dirty laundry that Suzie allows me to take to laundry mat across from our coach in the campground (get out of her hair!). While the machines do their magic she does the dusting and vacuuming, and I check the tire pressures and clean up a few outside things. All of this is standard procedure the day before we leave a campground.
Then we just putter around a it, walkabouts when its not raining, wipe off and put away our muddy chairs. The when our awning dried we rolled it up too.
|
look at the mushrooms in the lawn behind us, yep its pretty damp! |
Now because of the cold (high of 48f=9c), damp, windy day and even more mud on our patio we decided cooking inside. An easy meal of shake and bake chicken and taters accompanied by an acorn squash with some honey inside.
|
ready for the oven, just put the chicken on top of taters, 425f for an hour |
When I started cooking at 5 pm it was raining cats and dogs AGAIN! (glad we put all our outside stuff away). Then by 5:30 the skies cleared and the sun came out, first time today.
|
nice to see the sun, better late the not |
|
tasty chicken, taters and squash |
Supper tasted pretty good even if it was not done on our Weber Q tonight.
Now relax for a bit and hope for no more rain overnight or we could have a problem getting off this site in the morning. Just heading back to New Hamburg for some family get togethers this weekend to celebrate our Canadian Thanksgiving, before heading south, only 14 days to go yippee! Are we excited??? Not at all.......
Thanks again for stopping by to check us out, hope you had a nice day and not as rainy as ours. At least non of that white stuff yet.

It just started raining here at 8 PM and it is pretty warm compared to the time of the year. At 9 PM still 15 C (59 F). I guess the front will rush through overnight bringing heavy rain and gusting winds.
ReplyDeleteYour dinner looks yummy.
Hopefully thats all it will bring.
DeleteHow do you get your pictures framed with a caption?
ReplyDeleteEasy peasy, colored back ground gives the picture a white frame, and just click on the picture when composing "add Caption" and can resize the picture too.
DeleteSounds like you got as much rain as we did from Karen.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling thats where ours came from too.
DeleteWe had a little rain today. Sounds like we sound the huge rain amounts your way. All I can say is sorry about that but better there than here.

ReplyDeleteThe wind can be brutal but at least the rain missed you.
ReplyDeleteHope you get your MH out with no stuck in the mud problems.
ReplyDeleteOur rain suddenly stopped several days ago and hasn't returned - but, it will and soon I'll bet.

Have a great eveninig.
ReplyDeleteNice that things are cooling down for you there. We have had enough rain for a while, think the next while should be pretty nice for us.
