Where are we today ?
Let the Feast begin!
This is our Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend and we are lucky enough to be able to get together with our families and celebrate while still in this area. Today is part of Suzie's family and we helped Dennis and Sandy prep their house for the feast. One bone in ham was cooked and two large chickens on saturday. This morning I carved them all up and arranged in pans to reheat so no fuss later on.

Ham ready to reheat too the same way |

Keeping the young ones busy until everyone arrives with the rest of the food. Homemade salads, deserts, dressing, homemade mustard. Supplied here was the meat, mashed taters, gravy turnip, corn, cheeses and dinner rolls.

tasty salads |
|
lots to eat |
|
oh so tasty |
Now this is really hard, but have to make room for desert, Suzie's mom made two pumpkin pies and a dutch apple pie with spelt flour, and Shelly a tasty apple crisp. We had fresh whipped cream and ice cream to go with that.
|
Heavenly deserts |
Now after this early afternoon's feast time to play with the young uns and chat.
|
Great Gramma (Suzie's Mom) playing dominoes with the twins |
Now outside to stretch walkabout, fresh air and exercise enjoying a nice mild fall day, with the leaves almost falling like snow flakes.

|
lots of leaves down and more to come from all these Maple trees |
|
Suzie kept the three girls busy on the swing set |
|
this young lady in the garden playing us a tune? |
Then we showed the girls our house and they wanted to watch "their" show, not sure what it was but the Simpsons kept them occupied for about three minutes. Then back outside to burn up more energy.

The was day one, of the festivities, tomorrow get together with my family in Kitchener and Waterloo, more food and less formal.
Glad you could drop by and hope you had enough to eat too. We are practicing for the American Thanksgiving when we should be around the Dallas/Fort Worth Texas Area.

Like you said lots of food and you really don't want to hurt anybodies feelings by not having something they made.
ReplyDeletePlease don't say S@#w. There are some of us that might just see it before we leave like that Easter bunny wishing you were taking him south. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Ooops , I forgot and said that 4 letter S work. We don't want to see if but I am afraid you guys will.
