Hockey, Balloons, Turkey, Ham, Chicken, soup, visiting and yard cleanup we had an awesome busy day !

Where are we today ?
After my morning coffees and computing and watching the sun rise through our front window. I headed into the Plattsville Arena to watch grandson number 4 on the ice for his hockey practice at 8 am.
beautiful sunrise this morning
The nice country drive into Plattsville, clear blue skies and a bit of fog by the river this morning.
At the arena to watch the hockey practice he is making such great progress, just love this arena time, brings back so many memories and good times.
Now at 9 am headed back to pick up Suzie for the 10 am practice. Such an awesome sunny fall day!
spotted two hot air balloons looking for a landing spot
I headed down the road a mile or so watching where they are going to land, such a treat to see these balloons in the air.
Touch down and the chase truck is right there for them
Now with Suzie back to the arena to watch grandson number one practice his hockey moves and chat with daughter number two for a while as well.
Back home I sliced up the turkey I had cooked yesterday, placed in a roast pan and covered with the gel after skimming the fat off it. Reheat and will be so tender and moist!
Finished off the turkey noodle soup, gluten free!
Then we headed off to Waterloo, visit my ma for a bit, Turkey in her fridge, Paper plates , napkins, utensils, a table and pumpkins for the our grandchildren to carve on monday afternoon. Had a nice visit and coffee with Ma too.
Still going, we stopped in New Hamburg at Suzie's Mom and Dad's to pick a couple large tables and chairs for Thanksgiving dinner here at Dennis and Sandy's on sunday.
Sandy cooked a nice bone in ham and a I carved it it up to reheat, save the bone to make a nice ham soup.
ham ready for tomorrow
As we puttered around our niece and her husband dropped in for a bit to help set up and dropped off this MONSTER mushroom. Puff ball maybe? not sure but was sure  huge!
is that a huge mushroom our what?
As I played in the kitchen a bit more to get a couple turnips cooking and two large chickens to go in the oven Suzie worked on the fire pit for a while with the leaves. Sandy is on the mower mulching then and ready to burn some more. (You can do this in the country with no close neighbours).
But then with all this working we need to have a bite to eat. How about a bowl of  turkey noodle soup and a ham sandwich ? We have lots and somebody needs to taste test it right? So we did!
Homemade soup and sandwich for supper,
sure hit the spot.
Another fun day with this awesome fall weather, outside fresh air and busy doing stuff.
Hope you enjoyed your day too. And a Happy Canadian Thanksgiving weekend to all out there that celebrate. For the next 2 days we get to consume some more of this food that we have prepped.  AND we get to celebrate Thanksgiving next month too when we are down south, boy are we ever lucky!
Thanks for stopping by again, we do enjoy your company.

Ever since you made changes to how people leave comments on your blog, my iPad for some realon will not allow me to leave comments anymore... what a pain! Might have to as Rick what is up with that. Had to break out my laptop tonight to do this.

Hope you enjoy a great Thanksgiving Weekend! We will, and yes, we get to do it all over again next month! Perfect.
