Sunshine, warmer fun day, that just flew on by. Ending with a birthday facetime, love this technolgy.

Where are we today ?

What a wonderful morning, sunshine and warm temps. A few early walkabouts sure do love this after a cold day yesterday.
Down by the outside pool pretty quiet in the early morning.
looks so inviting, but still too chilly
The orchard camping quiet too
one of the 4 children's playgrounds
counted 27 squirrels this morning
having a feast
They had chickens on sale at the Arkona Market and wanted to get another one for supper. So I took the chicken bones from the freezer and boiled up a very tasty chicken broth for a large pot of homemade chicken noodle soup.
simmering away for a couple hours
smells wonderful !
all the goodness cooked from the bones now
A couple bowls of soup for lunch and a few more for a couple more days.
tasty lunch yup
Then time for a shower, trim my beard and hair (Suzie does the final check). Enjoyed our e-readers in the shade for a while and a nice 45 minute workout at the fitness center.
love the afternoon view, from our patio
All done in time for "Happy Hour" friends Paul, Judy, Emile and Monique came here today as I had put our on sale Chicken on the Weber Q for about 90 minutes. It was a 4.5 lb bird on sale . only $1.99 a pound. That's a good price for chicken in Canada!
We chatted , shared tips and stories, things we do at Happy hour. Just a wonderful social time. Even solved all the problems of the world ,, lol....
we being Happy
While we here the chicken is teasing us with wonderful aroma. Until done 185f internal temp.
love our Weber Q
Then I just whipped up our green salad to go with it, I got 1/2 of 1/2  of the chicken breast and 2 wings, more that I could eat. But lotsa leftovers. Some chicken and the carcass in the freezer for future soup stock and lotsa chicken left for sandwiches and lunches. We get a lot of mileage out of a chicken, our favorite meat. No waste here in our house.
so very tasty and hit the spot
Then outside to enjoy a wonderful warm evening. Reading and posting the blog. This is the second time tonight first posting somehow did not save. First time in quite a few  years. So inside to redo the whole thing, but my thoughts are still in my head.
While outside I managed to contact daughter number one on facetime. To do a video chat with her, and the three grands. In particular grandson number 2 to wish him a happy 12 th birthday. Wow they grow up so fast! Seems like yesterday he was born.. Where does the time go?
Then a wonderful sunsetting in the trees
The days just fly by even when we have nothing much planned, and we enjoy every minute of every day.
Thanks again for stopping on by and I just know you had a wonderful day as well.

  1. We used to have a lot of squirrels around here too but no more. We have feral cats and raccoons now instead.

    1. The squirrels are here right now for the keys falling from the maple trees, normally we rarely see them.

  2. Haven't been able to enjoy "warm evenings" out here yet The chill of the Bay, you know, takes the pleasure away. Nope, gotta sit inside and most evening litting a fire in teh stove. Mornings too!
