First day of summer, Yahoo ! Summer Solstice.

Where are we today ?

Just another wonderful warm night, windows open and great sleeping weather. Up to the low 90's f today and sunny, but we don't need air conditioning, We have shade, a light breeze, and we outside all day anyway. This is summer time weather I enjoy. Besides there is a nice pool here that we can use and usually nobody else when we want to use it.
Got a nice early morning walkabout town for a couple miles, Chat with a few people at the garage, them home by 8:30.
But I did have a project I wanted to do. We cooked 2- 4 lb chickens yesterday on our Weber Q I wanted to boil up the bones for a huge pot of chicken noodle soup today. No room in the freezer so why not? Can always have soup for lunch anytime. I let that simmer for a couple hours.
While this was happening I headed on down the road a few minutes to the Rv place and picked up some Dicor self leveling caulking to touch up a couple spots on our roof. But they called for Thunderstorms, maybe wait for a day or 2.
Soup done for lunch and we enjoyed a tasty bowl each, lots more for a few more days.
the bones make a very tasty broth
The some quality reading in the shade between dips in the pool. About 4 times today, just cause we can and we do have the time.
you know its nice when Suzie goes in the pool
Then time to whip up supper. Another tasting of our favorite Turkey Garlic sausage on the Q, Fresh asparagus and a green salad.
sure is tasty
Then about 6pm headed in the Stratford Hospital for an MRI (sorry I made a booboo, it was actually a cat scan) my doc wanted me to have. Not sure why but no cost to us and will see if I am still alive and breathing. Feel awesome so we will see if I am not supposed to feel this good.  30 minutes each way and a 10 minute test, was a nice night for a drive anyway.
On the way there some interesting skies are kinda cool.
Then on the way home this formation,
I think it's a dog, what you think?
Today is the the first day of summer solstice full moon a rare occasion, and we were outside all the time it was supposed to happen( from 8 till 9 pm) but the cloud cover kinda hid everything from our view, (oh poop).
Anywho that was one of our many lazy, hazy days of summer. Hope you enjoyed yours as much as we did ours.

  1. It seems to get hotter down here. Weather Guessers said a risk of afternoon Thunderstorms. Just getting them now. Stay Cool.

    1. It always feels cooler in the country, with nice breezes and open spaces. 95f here feels cooler than 95f in cities and crowded campgrounds. No rain here at all.

  2. I love asparagus. You seem to cook it often too. What can you say about the weather? Only thing I can think of is here today and gone tomorrow.

That's the way the weather is, we take it as it comes.

  3. I love your cloud pics. We are also in the 90's but are running the air in the afternoon. No shade, no clouds and no breeze.

  4. Curious how long you had to wait for your MRI. Here in Kelowna, it is a 3 month wait.

  5. Well, here in the lower mainland it's summer too, but not very warm yet... We could use some of that Ontario weather!

  6. We looked for that Strawberry moon that was supposed to happen last night, but it looked the same as always to me. Probably because you ate all those strawberries already there were none left forthe moon... :cD

    1. Nothing like real homemade soup broth, do get some nice hot summers days here in southern Ontario and it will get hotter.
