Saturday started out squirrely and ended with a wonderful party.

Where are we today ?

Just more sunny warm weather today. Early walkabout spotted a whole heard of squirrels scrambling around the empty campsites in the valley here. Never have I seen so many all at once, Counted about 12-14 but hard get get a picture of them, they move so fast.
5 squirrels  on the ground and 2 ran up the  tree
Got a few walkabouts the park today probably a couple miles, and chatted with a few more people have not seen for a while I had a large bag of chicken bones in the freezer, pulled those out and proceeded to make a huge pot of chicken noodle soup, perfect for some lunches.
Love homemade soup anytime
Puttered around getting the coach ready to install our new awning this week. At least we have a nice shade tree to relax under and enjoy our e-readers.
Then at 4 o'clock we headed down to the clubhouse for a 50 wedding anniversary celebration for our good friends Harry and Jackie whom we met in 2006 in Abita Springs LA.. Before we met then her at Rock Glen Resort.
The clubhouse was decorated perfectly for the occasion by Harry and Jackie's 3 children and family, everything completely organized and take care of from the fully stocked bar, all the snacks and nibbles for the social time from 4 till 6 when an excellent meal magically appeared from the kitchen to the buffet table.
snacks  so tasty
the bride and groom still get the first dance
50 years later
Bill hamming it up
2 very colorful ladies
Just before dinner time we all got together for a group shot, snagged Melinda to take the picture, Thanks Melinda !
This was of happy group celebrating
this is the bunch of Rv friends that were here

Harry and Jackie
nice buffet meal
oh so tasty
tapping the the glasses did not give
them much time to eat
With much fun and conversation , they cut the cakes and the party carried on until it was way past our bedtime, we headed on home.
What could be a better way for avid rv'ers to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary than with family and rv friends in a campground clubhouse. Would like to thanks Harry, Jackies and their family for pulling of this wonderful celebration and have us celebrate with you.
Thanks for stopping in and joining us, love to have you along.

  2. Congratulations to the happy couple. 50 years is definitely worth a good celebration, not a lot of couples make it to that number.

Your motorhome looks pretty bare without an awning!
