Just another sunny day here in Cottage country at Galvin Bay resort. No wind, temps in the mid 70's F just great. Nice quiet early morning walkabout was so peaceful. Home before 8 am. Then chat with a few people and looked for things that needed to be done.First was to change our water filter cartridge, think it was due,was looking kinda like it was ready. Has been over a year
old filter on the left, you can tell what it should look like on the right |
use the Vroom Road master cleaner |
then the Roadmaster Silicone lube, works like new still |
Even found time to enjoy reading our e-readers outside in the shade. Gotta love the lifestyle.
About 4 pm good friends Emile and Monique stopped in for "HappyHour" Have not seen them since Rock Glen resort a few weeks ago. Just catching up with each other's travels is always fun.
Soon time to fire up our Weber Q and grill a couple Chicken, Mozzarella and red pepper smoked sausage on our Q. Added to a tasty green salad. Sure did the trick tonight, quick and easy.
yummy |
Last Saturday after the Peterborough farmer's Market we stopped by the Hydraulic lift lock in town and was pretty quiet then. Should have been here Sunday to see this amazing record break event below.
On Sunday at 1Pm there was an event Lock'N Paddle that link is HERE for another one click Here for the link.
lining up for the lock, they got 138 in there ! |
all crammed in, wish we knew in advance would to have loved to be there, and awesome sight to see |
Thanks for stopping by. This weekend is a long one here in Canada (Canada Day Long weekend) the crowds will be arriving tomorrow and the campground will be full. We don't mind it is part of our lifestyle, they will be mostly gone come sunday. Then peaceful once again.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this summer
You might not be so all alone come Monday. Lots of the manufacturing plants start their two week shutdowns to coincide with the first week of summer break for the school children.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
It is summer time but is still much quieter after the weekend, The busiest time here is the last week in July and first week in August.
DeleteThat lock event is fascinating... were they trying to see how many canoes would fit? I'd like to have seen that... but not sure I'd want to have been in one of the canoes...
ReplyDeleteThey wanted to break last years record of 101 canoes and they did. 138 in total, it sure would have been fun.
DeleteOh my gosh. I can't believe they allowed all those people in the lock at one time.
ReplyDeleteCanada Day and 4th of July. Let the celebration begin.
It was an event that's for sure.
DeleteThis is the weekend we can all "Party On" !
WOW ... look at the line up for the locks.
ReplyDeleteIt would have been really awesome to see in person !
DeleteThe lock full of paddlers looks like a complete riot! What a hoot.
ReplyDeleteIt sure would have been something to experience!
DeleteDid someone count all the paddlers? Way cool!
ReplyDeleteThey sure did were out to set a record from last year was 101 this year 138.
DeleteI try to change my water filer quarterly, where we are there is a high iron content that makes the water taste terrible.
ReplyDeleteOur water still tasted fine, but thought it was time ti change it anyway, Some areas are high iron and others not
