What an awesome busy sunday, more great memories made! I Oh yeah saw a bear too!

Where are we today ?
Another excellent day, this is what summer is all about. Shorts, t shirts sunshine, hot and sunny. Temp about 85f (30c) humidity about 60% absolutely perfect weather for me. A few walkabouts, Chat with my son and Jane by the pool early this morning, nice !
Ken and Me
Then I made a nice large pot of hearty chicken noodle soup for lunch today. BBQ 2 chickens yesterday makes some awesome broth.
yummy
Ken and Jane got their stuff all packed up and came for lunch before they headed out, Chicken noodle soup and chicken sandwiches. Love chicken anytime.
perfect weather
A tasty lunch and they just hung out and we talked up a storm, so nice to actually spend some time with them, just the 4 of us. But the weekend went so fast. So they headed out shortly after 3 pm back to the Big City of Toronto, 2 hours or more depending on the traffic, and probably very heavy traffic. Safe travels guys.
No not time to relax yet, we had been invited to John and Barb's in Buckhorn along with Emile, Monique, George and Rose for dinner. So headed up there about 4 o'clock, enjoyed some great social time on their new deck beside the river. Emile and  George did some fishing off the new dock and did catch a few small ones.
only about 12 minutes away, nice country drive
nice deck
Suzie got her doggie fix with,
Hank and Pepper
George and Emile fishing
that's the biggest fish George caught,
put it back to grow

Barb had cooked up some pork tenderloins and baked potatoes, I took some pasta salad, Monique made a potato salad and Rose some tasty chocolate brownies.
excellent supper
This be Hank
Now as we sitting and chatting John yells at us "Look their". Across the narrow river a small black bear. So we gotta try get some pics. He wandered around by the water and by the 2 cottages there, nobody home. Now I just have my point and shoot pocket camera not great for these shots but you get the idea. If someboady sends a better pic I will add that to tomorrows posting.
can you spot the bear?
John sent me a couple  bear pics will add then right now. Thanks John!
he is looking right at us
About 8:30 we head home and a fun day, getting cooler and soon the skeeters be coming out. So we all shared our hugs and see ya laters some day some time somewhere on down the road, Thanks for the fun time guys and awesome meal.
Caught the wonder sunset
 heading back home
Fun weekend with family and friends making more memories to last a lifetime. Everyday just seems to get betterer.
Thanks for taking a peak and hope your weather was a great as ours.
Leaving here in the mornings move down the road a couple hours.

  1. We love anything chicken too.

John and Barb's setting for their house is beautiful. The bear looks like a friendly one...is that possible?

    1. It is a very nice place, they have been fixing up for a few years.
The bear may look friendly but is a wild animal, at least is on the other side of the river.

  2. That's a great shot of the bear! It's also a great shot of you and your son together. He certainly takes after his father.

  3. That is quite the hat you have, looks like in a strong wind, you could take off. Might come in handy if bears get too close... :cD

  4. Looks like you had wonderful day not only with family but friends as well.
Like you said the bear may look gentle but is wild and you don't want to feed it because then it will associate humans to food and eventually it will have to be put down.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  5. Family time... I always love it... even if it's not my own family ;-) That bear looks pretty big to me... but it doesn't look like he got into too much trouble. We have to take bird feeders down at night and of course never leave out anything that could be food for them.

  7. I think it's good you used someone else's photo for the bear. I couldn't find it in your photo.
