Not enough hours in the day anymore.

Where are we today ?
Much cooler today after yesterdays heat wave. Actually had to put on a short sleeved t shirt and socks on my feet even wore warmer shorts. Did get some morning chores done and check with the garage in town to see about service on our vehicles and run a few errands.
Managed to get a tiny bit of grass mowing done today, and also managed to relax in the shade for a few minutes, then off to Suzie's mom and dads to help with some sorting and purging, boy its a big job.
a nice view we have here
While at her parents place I helped her Dad prep a chicken on the chicken roaster they won at the family reunion. It has various names one that a lot of people know it  by is a beer can chicken roaster. You set the chicken upright over a 1/2 full can whatever you like, juice, pop, beer whatever, in this case it is gingerale of course.
I whipped up a salad
perfect chicken, so tender and moist
I helped a bit with the scalloped potatoes and corn, whipped up some Swiss Chalet dipping sauce and we had a very tasty meal. They will even have leftovers for another meal as well.
Suzie and her mom went through a lot of stuff, just barely scratching the surface. So much stuff.
yep hit the spot
Then eventually time to head home and pick up our mail on the way. To maybe relax a bit before calling it a day.
backroads into town
That was our busy day, with the heat wave taking a rest.
Thanks for the stopping by once again.

  1. You are right. Some days there just aren't enough hours in it to do everything you want to do. Thank goodness tomorrow always follows.

  2. That's right some days could be thirty hours long and they wouldn't be long enough. As the expression goes "There's always tomorrow!"

  3. To purge a lifetime of stuff does take some effort. Good luck with that.

  4. How long do you roast the chicken? I've seen the crock dishes but it took 2 hours to cook.

    1. One hour at 350f in the oven or on a BBQ, until internal temp reaches 160-165f this one about 70 minutes and was done to perfection.

  7. These bbq tips are wonderful and I have done large chicken breasts, pork tenderloin and ribs on the Q to perfection. I sure appreciate all your recipes! Last night we had indoor oven chicken breasts though, it was cool enough that I didn't mind the oven on, and I also whipped up a batch of Swiss Chalet dipping sauce. That stuff is soo good!
