Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
since August 2006
After monday night's thunderstorm the humidity has left the air and it felt cooler. The temperature did get to 90f (34c) but felt quite comfortable. Today just a hanging out day walkabout the resort and chat with a few neighbours and putter around.
We had noticed on the way in here, just down the road, at the Oasis Travel Center an eye catching restaurant, the
Derailed Diner. I wanted to check it out so I found their website, it looks like an interesting, fun place to go.

With all the interesting menu items, home cooked meals including the "Hobo Baskets" (
In true RAILROAD STYLE, our HOBO BASKETS are SLOW ROASTED in tin foil tied off with a HOBO PENCIL) all looked very good. We will have to eat there another time thou, neither one of us felt like eating out and I was wanting to Barbie Q supper for our last two night's here. Heading north on thursday it just may be while before our trusty grill comes out again. We are BBQ junkies you know.
Back home we enjoyed a peaceful afternoon in the shade with our books, walkabouts to keep limber then I fired up the Barbie. A marinated chicken breast on a bun, roasted potatoes in foil, with onions, garlic and spices, and some grilled asparagus, so tasty.

What a cool and interesting diner. I am sure just the outside look of the place brings the people in.

Yep I am a big kid, we will go there and eat next time around, busy place. The children's meals are very inexpensive and are served on a frisbee that they can keep!
Thanks for sharing...put that on our HAVE to list!!
