Why AZ to Hauchuca AZ and had productive day with more amazing weather

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it

ok here we are in Huachuca Arizona, how do you pronounce it?
easy just like it looks?       Wa-CHOO-kuk

A wonderful cool comfortable quite nights sleep and up early as usual. Got a couple walkabouts done then we began to secure the coach for travel. Stopped by the dump station and pulled out at 8:15 am heading east along hwy 86 towards Tucson.
what a wonderful drive,
great scenery and so many Saguaro Cactus
excuse the bugs on the windshield
this huge one right by the road, awesome !
couple of cool water towers Patsy..
Wizard of Oz in the right?
Then 19 north and hopped on I-10 east to Benson Arizona. 2 hours after leaving Why we arrived at the Super Lube Plus to get an oil change and grease job on our coach, Been coming here almost every year since 2006. No appointments very good service and reasonable as well. Suzie ran a couple errands in town.
heading into Benson
Service our coach quick and friendly, nice
to see Tom still here, welcomed me back
When we were done here went to Elite Sales to pick up a new water pump for our rv ( it has been finicky so time for a new one I think) Also ordered a new fridge door latch that will be in tomorrow. Always had great service here from John.
We left the coach there for a few minutes and picked up our favourite Broasted Chicken from Junction Express, cooked to order and so moist and tender. That took care of another craving and our big meal of the day, Oh yeah and left over chicken, love it !
While enjoying lunch here spotted this cowboy sauntering down the road into town bedroll behind his saddle and of course his gun in his holster.

After a late lunch we headed up to Huachuca City to stay at another membership park, this one is $9.00 a night for full hookups plus electricity, which will be next  nothing for us when we use our solar.
nice large sites here,
we want our patio in the shade at this time of year
Nicely set up by 3 pm chatted with our new neighbours Bob and Phylis for a bit then settled in the shade to do some reading and catch up on my emails. No supper needed tonight but we did enjoy this wonderful warm weather reading outside until 7:15 pm. time to head inside. We sure are loving these longer daylight hours and sunny days. And the wild life here is pretty tame, bunnies everywhere, Charliedownunder would have a ball here with them.
and another nice desert sunset.
today's journey  181 miles
It was a wonderful travel day, got things done that we wanted and settled into a new park for us and maybe check out a few things in the area , if the spirit moves us.
Thanks for dropping in to join us as we slowly wander back home. Some longer travel days and stop for a while, that's what we like to do.
Where have we been this Winter

  1. I've pronounced it like sneeze HA-chu-ka but pretty sure it is pronounced WA-chu-ka, from a friend who was stationed there. Great museum of the Buffalo Soldier on base. The home of Army Intelligence only wanted a picture ID to get on base and gave us a map.

    1. We enjoy the southwest every winter no matter the temperature, the wonderful scenery, dry air, clear blue sunny skies, wide open spaces AND no snow is the best part.,
