A wonderful quiet relaxing day in Quartzsite and many more to come.

Where are we today

What can I say?  We love it here, free camping and so quiet and peaceful and so much space. No neighbours, whats not to love about that? This is what we enjoy, desert dirt.
After morning computing and coffees I wandered about for about a mile at 6:30 this morning as the sun's rising. About 60 f and is warming as the sunrises perfect weather.
sun coming over the Mountain
And we were treated again this morning with another rainbow. Did this last all night or anew one thing morning?
my shadow almost ad big as the cactus

now this is the perfect campsite
When I got up this morning first thing was I put some chicken bones that we had in the freezer to make up a tasty chicken  broth. (why waste the bones?) And let them summer for a few hours to make a very tasty soup stock. Strained the bones and added the veggies, spices, egg noodles we had a very tasty, heavy real homemade chicken noodle soup for lunch, and few more bowls as well.
After the broth boiled down I cruised around town to pick up 3 LED light bulbs for our dinette fixture. Best price I found was at Discount Solar only $5.50 each and will do what we want to do. When here in Quartzsite you really need to shop around because there is so many vendors and variable prices.
now this light is LED too.
And much brighter than before
now this its a very tasty lunch
Then we just puttered around this afternoon, got some wonderful reading time done in the shade. Now this is the life !  Only 75 f today but sunny and  a cool sw wind at 15 mph. We managed quite well.
clear blue Arizona skies
About 4:45 time to whip up supper. Made a tasty salad and a pork stroganoff, so easy and very tasty. We had lotsa roast pork leftover so this was perfect. For the recipe you can click here or my recipe blog top right sidebar. I omitted the sour cream this time, cause we did not have any. Still very tasty.
you was tasty
That was our very nice relaxing day and looking forward to many more for the next few months.
Hope you had a great day as well and thanks so much for stopping on by.

  2. Love the rainbow. We need to head to "Q" ... just us .. before the crowds. It's like going home.

  3. I love Q also but not when the winds pick up not when the flies are everywhere.

    1. We have never seen flies in all the years we have been coming here, where did you see them?
Only a couple times really strong winds we can handle that.

  5. Yep, as you said you really have to check around on the prices in Quartzsite. We found that just because one place had a great price for one item, the next item you want could be more expensive then the one down the road.

Glad you are happy to be back at Quartzsite. We enjoyed our time there a few years ago but really for us once was enough.

    1. Yes checking the prices needs to be done.
We do enjoy the wide open spaces, warm weather, free camping, clear blue skies and quirkiness on this desert area and small town. Good thing it is not for everybody, it can get busy enough here at times and we have learned how to deal with that.

  6. That's how I liked Q. the best. Before the crowds move in. Nice shot of the rainbow.

  7. Great rainbow! I have yet to make it to the big RV doings in January, but really like the solitude available when the crowds are not there. I've enjoyed the restoration efforts at Castle Dome City. Enjoy your quiet time ... while it lasts!

    1. Thanks Jeff, we originally came here for the big show many years ago. But do enjoy the area, have been to Castle Dome City, and love it even more without the crowds.

  8. Greetings to Quarzsite! You seem to be pretty much alone - not many rigs to see in your pics.

    1. Yes we are and that's the way we like it, January will be a zoo, and we will be back, because we can, and do like to check out all the vendors.
