First day of fall? and 84f feels like 95F, yahoo!

Where are we today ?
clic on a pic to enlarge it
Now this is the first day of Fall the Equinox  12 hours of day light and 12 hours of darkness. It should be be getting cooler. Well heck look at today's weather, first day of Fall. Hmmm, looks like the weather gods did not realize it is fall yet. Hey but that's just fine with us.
we will enjoy this weather for a bit more
Got some nice walkabouts this morning enjoying the quiet and almost empty campground, so peaceful at this time of year. Full hookups and free Camping (almost) for 3 weeks. Really hard for us to stay in one spot for 3 weeks but we will be able to manage somehow.

About 9 am Suzie ready to head out and shop with me! That is rare, she needs a needs a new power cord for her I-Pad mini. So Staples we go in Strathroy 20  minutes away. A very nice Supervisor there took care of us, he was very helpful with other issues as well, he knows his stuff.
Next the Goodwill store and Suzie picked up a new to her, fall winter jacket that she likes only 15 bucks. She brought this home and dumped 3 jackets, hey that's purging! One in 3 out !
We picked up a 4 lb chicken on sale 8 bucks in town, will get a few meals from that, and we do love our chicken. perfect for our chicken craving supper tonight.
After a light lunch I puttered around for a bit, cleaned and lubed or RoadMaster town bar that I like to do every month or so. Keeping it working good and is 10 years old now. still works like new. Preventative maintenance sure does pay off.
tow bar looking good
Now I had an urge to go for a dip in the pool and soak in the hot tub. Perfect again at this time of year , nobody there, Both were wonderful, but the outdoor pool is not heated, so kinda to chilly for me.
out door pools is nice, but too cool for me
Back home to read for a while with Suzie, enjoying this wonderful weather in the shade.
Again Tucker stopped by for a visit and yet another doggie fix for Suzie.
Now time to whip up supper, grill our chicken on the Weber Q -100, always comes out perfect. Added a couple cobs of white corn that I had soaked for an hour or so, threw in a small healthy salad and more that we could eat. Leftover chicken is always good.
thus Weber is amazing
chicken, fresh corn and a small salad
perfect !
Then ya know enjoy a still nice wonderful evening outside in shorts . getting dark and the crickets signing their songs for us. Still enjoying this weather while we can.
Once again thanks for stopping in for a peek and hope you had a great day too!

  1. Just thought I would mention that I made your easy chicken pot pie recipe, George, and it was such a hit that my grandkids have demanded a replay which, of course, I'll happily do. Thanks for such a great and easy recipe.

  3. Sounds like summer has returned. Either way it sure beats having to wear a jacket.

  4. I think today is fall, at least it looks like it out there and the temps have dropped a bit. Makes us appreciate the sunshine all the more when we have these days so that is fine too!

  6. Next time you are at Galvin Bay & happen to be on the Hwy towards Giant Tiger, check out our Animal Shelters Thrift Shop. It is the yellow
house like building beside the animal shelter. Susie could find a bargain & get a "doggie fix" at the same time. $ goes to the animals.
I am going to try your spare rib recipe soon....all your meals look so good

    1. We have been to that store a few times years ago. We will not likely go back to Galvin Bay they have gone all seasonal and dropped the last of us 60 members there. And have no other reason to drive that distance and pay $45.00 a night. We did enjoy 16 years there though.
