What to do in Canada on cold winter nights? What else go to a hockey arena.

Where are we today ?
We comfy cozy here, just doing what we can here and there. Got my computing done before the sunrise this morning. Then a nice early morning country drive as the sun is rising, to Plattsville and chat with the guys at the Garage for a bit.

Now fresh air and a clear head back to New Hamburg, Suzie and her Dad are up and ready to move again with a new day. I made their lunches for the day and they off to Stratford hospital to visit Suzie's ma. I Puttered around checked out the dryer here that, did not seem to be working properly, but seems to be ok.
Couple errands in town then to the RV, picked up a few things there and grabbed our Weber Q, we are having separation anxieties ya know.
Back home to the house enjoy a nice hot shower and whip up supper. Tonight a rice pilaf, salad and quick fried smoked pork chops did the trick.
yummy
Got this meal outta the way then PLattsville Arena, Grandson number 1 is having a hockey practice, it was so nice to see them again 1st time since last fall.
#4 playing ball hockey in the lobby
was a good practice, game on Saturday
Talked to the grandsons for a couple minutes  for a couple minutes after the ice time, then back  to New Hamburg, love the back country roads. No traffic lotsa snow and so peaceful!
snow really blowing
Was a busy day and felt good. Seeing some family , securing our coach and a bright sunny winter day. Lived here for 55 years so not a real  stranger to the climate and have not spent a winter here since 2006. But we did getaway for some good times this winter. Actually did 3 months down south this year instead of our usual 6 months still not too bad at all.
Thank ya'll for stopping on by and if you are down south enjoy those sunny days while you can,  because you never know when they will come to an abrupt stop!

  4. Had no idea when we went off the road in 2008 it would be 6 1/2 years before we would head South again. So we understand what you mean. We are enjoying your blog. learning a lot about Canada and the winters through our blogger friends eyes.

  7. Nice to see that despite all your winter escapes over the last few years you still remember how to drive on those icy, snowy roads!

Good that you're able to see the grandsons playing hockey, they appreciate your being there and interested in their lives.
