Making progress slowly....

Where are we today ?
Carrying on the roadtrip. First map was yesterdays travels to where stayed at Apache Palms Rv resort in Tempe AZ. This morning we were up at 2:30am to get Suzie to the airport for 4 am checkin.
278 miles saturday
Then I was back at the rv waiting for the sunrise, to hook up the car and hit the road. I don't like to drive at night. Hit the road about 7:30 and made my way to I-10 eastbound. Fuelled up the flying J on Eloy  AZ $1.96.9 a gallon.
And wandered along heading east. Stopped in Benson Walmart for a couple things a stretch and a walkabout.  But I was getting weary, stopped at every rest area, made a bite for lunch about noon hoping to get to El Paso Texas today. Only another 100 miles but could just not do it. I need to get home in one piece.
325 miles today
It' getting colder here, and the water in the fields had ice and snow on it. Hmm not good. I had my Satellite radio playing different tunes even a couple of old radio shows, Sherlook Holmes and Dragnet was interesting and fun. Now I really have to turn up the volume to hear them, much to loud when Suzie is travelling with me. Mind you she is much more fun. I am missing her so much already.
just cruising along I-10
don't like to see that
I also researched weather forecasts and routes that I can take back home. My original route was across I-10 through DFW and Little Rock Arkansas. Weather going that way does not look good at all. So plan B follow 1-10 all the way to Louisiana winterize our coach then head straight north from there. At this point a much safer drive.
While puttering around I whipped up a bite for supper, not Weber Q right now. So made a nice shake and bake chicken breast with Panko bread crumbs. and a salad, sure did the trick.
yummy
Then finally got to chat with Suzie. Her connection was delayed 4 hours in Chicago so she did not arrive in Kitchener until 7:15 pm. Very tired she is as well as me. So we will rest up and tomorrow we will carry on.
We would also like to thank everyone for the comments and well wishes, that means so much to us.

  14. I'm glad you recognized your limits and stopped short of El Paso. Lots of breaks are necessary especially when you're traveling by yourself.
