Where are we today ?
Hey its Friday! Weekend here, do we care, not much anymore other than to stay away from most stores on the weekend. My early morning cruise to Plattsville, lightly blowing snow and a nice sunrise as I head into town. Roads are pretty good and the snow ploughs pushing back the snow drifts from the road side. We actually prefer the sand drifts in southern California, almost the same only much warmer.
see the snow plough , blue light? |
back to New Hamburg about 8:30 still blowing |
Now got 2 pieces of good news today.
Number one : Suzie's Mom and Dad have a room available at the Retirement home of their choice, just around the corner in New Hamburg. They have been waiting for many years, so checking that out this morning.
Number 2: We are back in Ontario now and Suzie contacted our out of province insurance provider on Tuesday. A refund was deposited into our account this morning over $1,100.00. About 1/2 of what we paid = bonus!
I worked on a few projects today, chat with my sister, check out our coach this afternoon, picked up a few items and the furnace actually fired up and ran for quite a while. Guess it does not like this very cold weather. Now tell me what good is a furnace that does not like cold weather? Maybe just protesting because we are not there?
Suzie and her Dad at the Stratford hospital for the rest of the day, working with the powers that be. They do that and I do this. She sends me a text when they are leaving and I can begin supper prep, no problem there we are a team.
Left over chicken in the freezer great for a chicken pot pie. One of our favorites. For the recipe check this out Easy Chicken Pot Pie recipe click here
Quick easy and tasty.

Was a pretty good productive day here. Not too much more snow and not too cold AND a nice sunny day. Not shorts and T-shirts weather but hey its sunny.
Glad you could drop on by for a peak again. If you are down south keep sending those warm weather pictures, please!

I hope spring comes quickly for you and your coach and car as well. Nice to hear that things are progressing in the way that you want for Suzie's parents. We are back at Orange Grove, but will be home to cold weather soon enough. Promise to send some photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue appreciate it.
DeleteGood news is always nice especially in the case of parents. Keeping you in our thoughts. We are off to the RV show in Toronto this weekend with are dealer to help them out, looking forward to it. Take care you two.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill enjoy the Rv show, we always used to enjoy them as well.
DeleteThat's great about finally getting into the place they wanted to. Suzie's dad probably appreciates her being there to help him and you being there to help both of them. Not so sure I'd be happy about all that snow. It's pretty to look at from Arizona but it wouldn't be so pretty if it was out our RV window.
ReplyDeleteNice to see from a distance, but not so much up close and personal anymore.
DeleteHope those icicles melt soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chicken pot pie recipe George...that's one of our favorite cold night meals!
Great news about Suzie's parents. Hope they will be settled in soon...and a nice refund always makes the day!
Was a pretty good day all round, feel like we are making progress.
DeleteCool beans that you got your insurance money back. Never thought about that. Hope you get the living arrangements all settled for Suzies folks. Always good to have the "kids" around to help.
ReplyDeleteIt will take a while, but it will come together.
DeleteGood news all around George & Suzi! Take care of business at home and there will always be a spot for you down here for next year! Family First!

ReplyDeleteThanks things will work out they always do.
