Well after reading some fellow bloggers postings, (you can check them out on our right sidebar). The Bloggerfest was a huge success in Quartzsite Arizona. So much thanks to
Jeri of Just Wanderin and Sandi of
Where are the Dixons today for putting this great event together. Sure wish we could have been there.
Unofficial head count that I heard was 52 strangers got together and actually, met some blogger followers face to face, what and amazing time that would have been.

Then below is two of my slide from the same era at my house in Waterloo.

Now back to today. After copying and editing another 60 slides I ran a few errands. And whipped up an easy one dish meal for supper. Pork chops and rice, Shake and Bake meal have not had for a very long time. For the recipe you can click

Now just as supper was ready Suzie's Aunt and Uncle dropped in for a visit. No problem, we had lotsa salad and rice, and ham in the fridge, so just heated up a couple slices for them and we had a meal for the 5 of us.

Now we just ate and ran to see Grandson number 4 play a hockey game in Plattsville at 6 pm and we wanted to be there.
We were and enjoyed every minute of it. So much fun to watch these little guys out there playing their hearts out and having a great time.

The game was good but they were defeated 5 to 1, but at least they had fun. Nice to see both Grandsons here at the arena my daughter and the rest of the family.
That was a another good day, just plugging along, hope yours was a good one too.

The quality of the transfers is acceptable considering the condition of the slides.
We missed you and they announced that the Blog Fest was largely your idea even though you couldn't attend at the last minute... So perhaps you can attend next year... The fun part of the gathering, was walking up and introducing yourself to a person you felt that you already knew..... Even though it was the first time you met in person.....
ReplyDeleteJeri, Sandi and I discussed the Bloggerfest and thought it would be a great idea. But family issues brought us back here to cold, snowy Ontario.
DeleteMeet fellow bloggers and followers is always fun, glad that made it there and had a good time.
This is only the second time since 2006 that we did not get to the Q, just love hanging out there.
We give it a shot next year again.
I thought those old pics might have been from 1971, the year of "the big snow" in Ottawa. I was only 9 years old, but I remember tobogganing off my neighbours roof onto the snowbank. The snowbank beside our driveway (that my father had shoveled by hand) was at least seven feet high that year!

I know my picture was between 1975 and 1980 taken at my house in Waterloo that I owned at that time.

DeleteI remember the days of shoveling snow but luckily we didn't live in the snowbelt so we never saw it that deep.
ReplyDeleteWe've been having cool days here but with the high humidity levels that north wind makes it pretty darn cold.
Someday we'll be heading out to Quartzsite for the winter and with luck be able to attend a future Bloggerfest.

Arizona is usually warm sunny days but very cold nights, great for sleeping.

I remember snow banks like that in Edmonton way back when.
