Where are we today ?
We having a heat wave yeah!! For Ontario at this time of year it is a bonus. Right now at 7 pm its 27f, sure beats what we have been having. If we had sunshine today it would be even much better thinking almost a beach day (in my mind only, haha). For 9 am I whipped over to Plattsville, watch Grandson number 4 hockey practice for an hour. It is amazing to see the improvements he has done since last fall.
Love watching these guys on the ice |
This was a great game with 3 - 10 minute periods, they whipped the other team 4 to 2. Great hockey and they all had a great time. We don't normally watch sports but when the family members are involve we love it!
Another bonus for our grands is the blended families they had 3 grandfathers here, but only one grandmother (Suzie), the support is wonderful!
After the game we back to New Hamburg a bite to eat for lunch and Suzie was working a bit on purging and cleaning stuff, it will be a long process.
I worked on an excel spread sheet of the new room, dimensions and try to figure placing of furniture that her mom and dad can take. Works pretty slick so now we have an idea what can happen, in10 days.
Suzie's Dad took off by himself this morning to visit MIL (Suzie's ma) at the hospital in Stratford so we had time to get stuff done here.
Then as he was leaving shortly after 4 pm gave us a call and I fired up our Weber Q 100. Have been missing our Weber and have it set up here in the garage. Gonna grill some taters, and chicken thighs I found on sale. (we all love chicken).
2 thighs each, a small tater, grilled red pepper and a salad, very light and so tasty.
Now that was what we did today and really enjoyed it. We will be busy for quite a while yet here, just doing what needs to be done.
Thanks again for stopping in and hope you had a great day too!
More time in the Plattsville arena that we are very familiar with. See the family, chat and enjoy some great times here. Things that we usually miss when we are south every winter.
Now that we are here the cold and snow don't seem that bad, when we can enjoy this family time. After the game we back to New Hamburg a bite to eat for lunch and Suzie was working a bit on purging and cleaning stuff, it will be a long process.

Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this past Winter.
Things happen for a reason - your grandkids are old enough to remember your presence at their games. Sounds like you and Susie are going to be extremely busy. What a load of your in laws mind to have love and support during their trying times....cheers
ReplyDeleteWe do what we can and things will fall into place.
DeleteHow much fun it is to follow the grand kids in hockey and other sporting activities.
ReplyDeleteTo fire up your Weber must have been a treat.
It is so nice to watch their progress as the grow.
DeleteGotta get the Weber out sure have missed it.
We went to all our grandkids games when we were around too. It makes a difference to them. We'd even fly up to Portland to watch them play several times when we lived in Dallas. They remember. It is important. I bet Suzie's dad sure appreciates all the food you're cooking for him. I know I'd appreciate it if you cooked for me. Heck, I'd even buy the food!
ReplyDeleteWe do enjoy interacting with them, it is a lot of fun.
DeleteThe cooking I enjoy, nothing fancy just good food.
Seems that things are falling into place. Nice that you can enjoy the grands while you are there. It is mild here too, +2C and it will get milder coming weekend.
ReplyDeleteYep it is coming together, and the weather getting warmer is sure nice too.
DeleteWoW! What a help and comfort you and Suzie must be for her mom and dad! And GREAT meals to boot!
ReplyDeleteThanks Teresa, we just do what we can, and move right along.
DeleteLooks like a great way to take care of your Weber Q withdraw.
ReplyDeleteIt sure worked for me, oh so tasty too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like some big changes for Suzie's parents. Good thing you are there to help. Don;t let people tell you that homes don't sell in the winter. I sold Dad's condo a week ago. Good luck with it all.
ReplyDeleteYep big changes, the real estate market is very good here right now, and a few people could be interested in the house when it's ready to sell.
DeleteLooks like you have a couple of future Wayne Gretskys in the making! ;c)
ReplyDeleteWell you never know!
