Just chugging long listen to the tunes and enjoy the bright sunny almost warm days.

Where are we today ?
Last night I had a real good sleep after a very long day on Sunday. And up by 5 am to check emails and chat with Suzie back home. Things are coming together now.
Did a nice walkabout the Walmart for a bit , only 22f when I got up.
this morning at the Deming NM Walmart 18 rvs here
Then waited for the sunrise and hit the road at 7:30am. The sun was shining no rain, snow or wind so was an awesome travel day.
483 miles (777 kms)
My first stop was the Las Cruces rest area about an hour away. Such a beautiful spot. And the Road Runner is back in place in all its glory (all refurbished) over looking the city of Las Cruces. He was in the body shop last winter.
nice rest area
After fuelling at the Flying J in Anthony Texas back on the I-10 sailed through El Paso and on down the road. Same route we followed last fall and I went to the same destination. Take advantage of good driving days I like. Leaving at 7:30 I arrived at 4:30 pm but the time zone change a lost an hour so actually 5:30pm, just starting to get dark, perfect!
many hours of these roads, very little traffic
I  just cranked up the satellite radio and and boogied along. Even listend to a few Classic radio shows from the 1940' and 50's. I do remember these and love them. Gunsmoke was one and anothe one with Raymond Burr.
every once in a while a turn in the road or a cut through a hill
Stopped for fuel in Ozana Tx and settled in the this rest area just 30 miles down the road. The back row is very quiet away from the hiway and no trucks, and has 24 hour security as well. Nice!
our coach is way back there
love the atmosphere
Checkin in with Suzie and we chatted for a while, bringing each other up to speed. I emailed her my daily expenses that she takes care of and all way good. Darn I miss her..
Now gotta eat I guess, so I whipped up a salad and a turkey burger, was very tasty.
Then a bit more research and travel planning, post the blog, watch a short show on tv and off to bed. Lets see where I can go tomorrow, I have a plan lets see if it will work.
Thanks for travelling along with us (me) and keeping me company. Hope you had a wonderful day as well. The weather is looking pretty good for tomorrow gotta love it!

  1. Looks like you're not taking the shortest route, but that must have something to do with the weather!

Are you using gasbuddy.com to plan your fuel purchases, or you don't care?

    1. I don't use gas buddy but when trying to make time I preffer flyin J with the rv lanes when towing a car and get the good sam discount of 3 cents a gallon, have been paying $1.86.9 a gallon so that pretty good.

  3. At least you're moving along and a very experienced traveler. We know that you know exactly what you're doing. Take care and we're watching your tracks.

  4. Good travel day George. We like that rest area - stopped there for the afternoon on our way down. A good highway so easy to make some time. Hopefully the weather clears as you head east and then north.

    1. Not the way I like to travel but can do it if the conditions are right.

  9. Thinking of you and your lonely journey back to Ontario George. Where the heck will you stay once back? Don't think your rig can handle these harsh Canadian winters. And other than the Milton RV park I don't know of any others that stay open during the winter...drive safe.

    1. I chat with Suzie every morning and night, so that works out pretty good.
Our home park in Arkona is open all winter, but we will be staying at her Dad's house for a while, before we go anywhere.

    1. Did not see you, but then you probably did not see me either.
Trying to look for a break in the weather then zip north.

  13. If you enjoyed Gunsmoke on the road, I think you'll enjoy the audio books. I know you said you had a hearing problem, but Bill manages with all of his hearing loss. It just takes getting used to and you must turn them off in busy towns.
