A winter wonderland so pretty out here.

Where are we today ?
Just a good night and as usual up long before sunrise. Doing my usual stuff checking blogs and comments, then Suzie's dad noticed the sunrise out the dining room window over the flats by the Nith River, it look so wonderful, like a winter wonderland.
from the dining room window
After helping Suzie's Dad with a couple things I fired the car to defrost, and scrape the windows. Sure do miss the remote starts we had on both our cars when we lived here. 10 years ago now since we spent a winter here. And they have been amazing winters so far. But this is another great experience for our memory banks.
at the front of the house
Love the morning frost on the tree branches looks do pretty, but its also cold too.
Now gonna wander over to Plattsville, stop at Pettigrew's garage, warm up and over to our friend John's (Camp Awesome in the summer). He was just heading out to work so chatted with him for a bit and gathered up our 2,  down filled  winter coats, my snowmobile boots, and Suzie's winter boots as well. We are now ready for whatever winter will dump on us.
On the way back to New Hamburg I spotted this white tailed deer running across the field to my right, so I slowed down while it bounded over the snowbank and across the road into the bush. Don't wanna  hit one, not only kill or maim, it but maybe even me and the car as well.
the white tailed deer are so graceful
Next plan to pick up some empty boxes and purge more freezable items from  our coach. Filled 4 more and moved to heated storage. Think we have most of what we need out of there that will freeze. Will check again tomorrow.
Now to relax for a bit this afternoon and finish drying the laundry that Suzie had done this morning before taking her Dad to the Stratford Hospital to see her mom. Thought I might have a few minutes to read , but as luck would have it they were heading home so time to whip up supper.
Tonight gonna bake a large salmon fillet on the oven, tasty salad and some fried potatoes for her Dad. He got the potatoes and we got to share a dozen escargots, I picked up the other day at Cloverleaf farms around the corner. 1/2 price in the freezer only $2:50.We love escargot and cannot turn down a deal like that.
Salmon and escargot
Now we had a real good feast, we did not go away hungry.
yummy
Supper done, tummys satisfied, and now to enjoy a nice relaxing evening.
Thanks for stopping in again and hope you had a wonderful day too.  Warmer than here would be a bonus as well.

    1. I saw it running across the field, so I slowed down to avoid having it run into the car.

  7. I think it beats the "one cactus starts to look like another" syndrome just fine. Sure hope you have enough winter clothes though.

    1. We are doing our best, I always enjoy cooling down from the heat much more enjoyable than warming up from the cold.

  9. Very pretty winter photos. And there is nothing I enjoy more than looking at lovely winter photos when sitting in the southwest US desert.

You have great coping skills George. There is beauty in any environment. All the best.

  10. Are you worried about the MH freezing into a big block of ice. It may never thaw out! Brrrrrr

    1. It will thaw out someday, it would be better if we were in a Campground and living in it, But that is not happening right now. Thinking it is just very cold and lonely.
