Tues. Sept.13th. Cooling down brrr.

Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
 since August 2006

Its a good thing we shampooed our carpets and upholstery yesterday, because today it was overcast, too cool and breezy. Today was a research day again, we computed a bit and are working on a possible itinerary for this winters migration. I plot out a possible route on Microsoft Streets and Trips looking for easy traveling days between membership campgrounds (we have over 700 to choose from) or free overnight stops. Now an easy traveling day is from 9 to 2 with a 15 minute stop about every two hours to stretch, and a stop for lunch. If we see something interesting we have time to stop and if we like an area we stay for a while as well, so much to see and do.

Once we get to warmer weather we like to stop for a week or two at most destinations and just enjoy the local atmosphere of small towns. After planning a route on my computer I will copy the file for Suzie to put on her computer so we can discuss the plan and adjust accordingly, of course in will change many times along the way as well, this is really just a guideline.

During the day the occasional walkabouts the resort, chat with a few people, enjoy the peace and quiet, and wildlife on a fall day at a not too busy time of year.

Now here at Galvin Bay Resort new owners took over this past spring and are making a lot of changes. It was a members only park (our Coast to Coast home park), but now it has been open to the public and they are pushing for a lot of seasonal campers. Not as busy as before and very little in the way of activities compared to what they used to have here. With the Canadian Thanksgivng soon coming up most campgrounds usually have a huge dinner and family fun activities, but this year does not appear to be that way.

I have mixed feelings about this sign

Before we knew it was early afternoon and time to sit outside and read. We did have to dress a bit warmer, sweat shirt, and socks and with a little sunshine here and there we enjoyed our books for a while. Also watched a neigbour walking his huge dogs, I can't decide if the black and white one looks like a small long haired holstein cow or a panda with a long tail, what do you think?

While we were relaxing a neighbour borrowed the carpet cleaner we rented and split the cost, a bonus for us, it does not need to be returned until wednesday morning. So once done they joined us outside for happy hour, chatting and comparing rv travels. They spend the winters in one place in Arizona.

Now its  time for supper so fire up the grill for some bbq'd scalloped potatoes with onion and green pepper, bbq'd carrots, fresh garden tomatoes and a very moist juicy pork chop, just to round off our day.
Tasty supper

Not sure if the Isla is on the agenda this year, still working on Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California yet, so much to see!
