Six more sleeps!
Cool again and lotsa rain overnight. As we can see buy the creek in front of the farm which was pretty well dry a few days ago.
After our morning coffees Suzie, Sandy and I went off to the
St. Jacobs Farmers Market about 8.30am. We were on a mission to replace Suzie's cozy white flannel nightshirt, her 3rd in about 12 years, at a shop there,
Nights in White Flannel. We always enjoy the sights and sounds of the market, fresh meat and smoked meat, lotsa produce, fresh baked goods and Sandy even treated us to fresh warm apple fritters. From here a short drive to Picards Peanuts in St. Jacobs for a supply of fresh Ontario grown unsalted peanuts, (Suzie's favourite) to help get us thru the winter. Then another quick stop at the Wholesale Club to stock up on our coffee, enough for 200 pots of our favourite black gold that gets us kick started in the morning. Finally back on the road with a stop to pick up a Tim Hortons coffee for Dennis and Greg still working at the farm, and back there by 11:10am to carry on with puttering around, a few computer chores and walkabouts.
The afternoon was sunny and a bit of a breeze with most of the leaves on the ground, we are just putting in time, impatiently waiting until we hit the road next thursday, getting most of our last minute things wrapped up. Then for supper some delicious smoked pork chops, with baked potato, mixed veggies and a salad.
