Where are we today ?
We are having a heat wave. Mind you it is all relative compared to the -30f temps we have been having was -13 C this morning (8f) and got to -1c (30f) this is awesome! Sun shining, blue skies and can tell its gonna get much better soon. Spring only 18 days away now!
Looking for a project this morning and checked out the freezer here. A whole mess of frozen cherries. Hmm I can do something with these. Found a container frozen enough for a pie. So thawed them out and made some cherry tarts. For the recipe I used you can click here or my sidebar recipe blog its there, so simple to make. Suzie took one for her mom at the hospital and she ate the whole thing, more than she has eaten for a while.

this made a dozen 3 inch tarts and 4 small dishes with just the pie filling |
Once Suzie took here Dad to the hospital I ran to the Rv and picked up a few supplies, Passing a bunch of snowmobilers taking advantage of the milder weather and sunny sunday on the trails. This group had 12 sleds altogether. Having a great time.
soon their season will be done |
Then as Suzie heads home I can whip up supper. Couple shrimp burgers we had in the freezer (from somewhere south), fresh asparagus on the grill and another tasty salad. Have missed using our Weber Q. Too cold for a while.
of course it was tasty, on our Q |
Thanks again for stopping by.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this past Winter.
No matter what the weather, you seem to always make the best of your day! I admire that George. Good on you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter, I believe everyday we are upright and breathing is a good one. Don't have to look to hard to make the best of every situation.
DeleteI agree with Peter. You seem to enjoy the days no matter where you are or what you're doing. It's definitely uplifting to everyone else. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeri , that is the best I can do. You know the old saying got lemons make lemonade.
DeleteHeat wave for sure. Where is your photo of you two in shorts? lol
ReplyDeletePhoto of us in shorts, check out the header. Out shorts are still in the RV. When we move back into it I will be able the wear them.
DeleteAmen...on the first two comments! Those cherry tarts made my mouth water...
ReplyDeleteThey were pretty good, found some cherries in the freezer so made some cherry tarts.
DeleteImagine that our Palm Springs weather matched BC coastal weather. It rained all day, yesterday, and the temperature equaled the +11C temperature in Vancouver, BC. No complaints though.....as the snow can only be seen on top of Mt. San Jacinto and Mt. San Gorgonio.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine, and seeing the snow in the mountains is ok too. Wish we had mountains here for the snow to go to.
DeleteYeah on the heat wave. Good job on getting Suzie's Mom to eat a treat.
ReplyDeleteLoving the heat wave.
DeleteShe does enjoy most things that I send in for her.
Who would not enjoy anything you serve :))
DeleteShe was a great cook too, made some awesome meals. Did a lot of catereing.
