Fun in the sun, Wapakoneta Ohio!

Where are we today ?
Wapakoneta Ohio
Last night was kinda cold, 20f (-6c), but we were very comfy inside our house, micro furnace running and kept our temps inside about 45f (8c) great for sleeping with our hundred pound comforter. Keeps us warm and can't move under the weight. Just love this weather for getting a really good nights sleep.
Morning sun arrived while I am waiting for it and temps climbed dramatically hitting a high about 58f (15c) perfect for a wonderful sunny day and no wind.
So a few walkabouts until the office opened at 10 am, register our site and get a gate pass.

a few people in the pool
Gate pass in hand can get out and pick up a few groceries, whip up a bite to eat for lunch then, we can enjoy this wonderful afternoon sunshine reading our books!
maintenance cleaning up the park.
         An awesome day today
beautiful blue skies and planes overhead
Still nice out and time to fire up our Weber Q 100. Today, a cornish hen, potatoes in foil with onions and grilled asparagus, absolutely wonderful. Its been a few days since we fired up our Weber and feeling kinda deprived.
a short hour cooking on the Q
while we read our books
add some Swiss Chalet dipping sauce and we are good
Now a walkabout after supper and find its all nice and quiet at the pool. So gotta go for a soak in the hot tub and a couple laps in the pool, this really hit the spot!
nice and quiet
hot tub perfect
Ok now we are getting close to Ontario and cooler weather but hey, this sure hits the spot right now. Don't mind this at all.
Just wanna thank ya'll for dropping in again and if your care to check out some of the things we have seen here in the past, below.
We toured the Neil Armstrong Museum and Airstream factory in April 2010 ,
you can read about them if you are so inclined,

  1. I am glad you are liking the cool weather up there, but please warm it up before we get home at the end of this month!

  2. Nice weather...sometimes it's great to have a refreshing change after being in the south all winter. I'm missing those cooler temps but getting acclimated to Florida weather. Looks like a great place to stay in Ohio...

  3. Since we don't belong to any membership parks our most common parks are KOA and we have stopped at the Wapakoneta KOA many times.

Hope Ontario warms up before you get there so it will be nice and toasty by the time we get there. Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

    1. It will be a bit warmer when we get there. Being fulltime KOA's are much to expensive to make this lifestyle affordable.

  5. It is supposed to be -16C when we get back to Regina next week.

Guess we will have to winterize before then !!

    Safe travels ... TnT

    1. We don't need to winterize as long as we are living in the coach. We lived thru -17 c for about two weeks in 2007 without winterizing our coach.

  8. What a great park. In Ohio, it makes tons of sense to have an indoor pool. Keep that warm weather coming. We are headed that way in another week.

  9. Smart move on picking that park with its indoor pool and hot tub. What a nice way to end a cold day.

    1. Works for us, not a lot of good choices for us once we get back up north.

  10. Membership parks as well as Elks save big bucks compared to other parks. I also like them better. When the temperature gets down to 20f, it's just way too cold for us.

    1. We like saving big bucks too! And saved thousands over the years fulltiming.
20f is not our favourite either, but we do have to get back to Ontario, and its still warmere here than home.
