Tasty fried chicken lunch, some rain and a very warm afternoon, storms coming , maybe? And a doggie fix.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Again a very warm night windows open a bit more and 60F at 5 am,  Very comfortable inside this morning no heat needed. Got a nice walkabout for about 45 minutes them back home for another coffee and putter about.
one of the ponds here
bridge across a creek
cool landscaping
Supposed to rain and was coming in soon. By 10:30 it began and came down pretty heavy for a while. Glad we checked out the fishing derby yesterday.
skies getting real dark.
Going to rain for a bit later this morning so at 10:30 we headed into Walmart a couple of things that Suzie wanted. Plus we had planned on going for lunch at Charlie's Chicken, had a craving for some fried chicken. They also have catfish as well and a few other items on their menu, meatloaf , liver, gizzards, country fried steak, salads. Hmm. Never been here before so had to give them a try. It is cafeteria style so just tell then what you want and your sides the at the end pay the cashier. we decided seeing as it is already cooked felt the chicken would be better than kept warm fish.  And it was pretty good, not the best but took care of the cravings, do love some decent fried chicken. The fries were warm , not crispy and I enjoyed the baked beans plus fresh baked buns. But was very reasonably at $7:95 each.
this be the place
order your food here
this was very tasty we enjoyed
would we go back? Probably not.
A little better the Walmart takeout
lots of nice booths
decorations chicken theme of course
Back home by 12:30 the rain had stopped, good timing. The skies are clearing and maybe be a a decent afternoon.
yeah almost sunshine
So a reading afternoon outside and the next few nights down to around freezing and much cooler days only into the 40's F but will start to warm up again on Monday. I got a couple of nice walkabouts in this afternoon and finding it quite warm as the sun came back out.
a few cranes down by the lake
nice to see the daffodils and actually we saw quite
a few Robins as well, yup it is spring time
Here comes Bella
Bella is a very friendly dog that hangs around here and everyone loves her , she plays with the dogs in the campground . Apparently she lives across the road and when her MOM goes to work she likes too hang our here and visit, No body complains and is so nice to see her around we enjoy her company.
Doggie fix for Suzie
what a sweetie
With the sun shining and temps in the low 70's was very warm here for a couple of hours. so of  course shorts and t'shirts were needed.
Eventually cooled down, but we did get to enjoy more reading time outside until about 6 pm Then headed on inside, Might get to below freezing tonight so disconnected our water hose, and the possibility of storms and hail, so pulled in our slide to save our slide topper, better safe than sorry. We don't need our slide open anyway, just gives us a bit more space that we don't need overnight anyway.
After a filling lunch thought of a tasty snack for supper, so how about a hot dog. Worked for us, I got some buns the other day only .88 cents so may as well use a couple One small hot dog each, Loaded as always, peanut butter, tomato, onion, relish, mayo and mustard just enough to take the edge off. and a rare treat as well.
 a nice light supper tonight
Then because of the overcast skies, no visible sunset tonight again. Still 65F at 8pm but is expected to get cold overnight. No problem  we can deal with whatever comes our way. We have our cable hooked up can watch so many local channels here and get weather alerts as needed.
Want to thank y'all for dropping by and enjoying our day with us. Hope you had a great one as well.

    1. Nothing special about a plain hot dog until you add peanut butter.

    1. I don't have the proper equipment anymore to make good fried chicken, a good thing it is not that healthy so I save it for a treat the rare time we eat out.

  7. While I like all your pictures I find the first one to be my favorite. Do you use a special software to put your blog's name (I do not know the proper term for it) on them?

Not too many people at the chicken place but I liked their interior decoration. This is the first time I hear of anyone putting peanut butter on a hotdog but aside from that it looked quite tasty.

  8. For my pictures I edit them in Picassa and add our Watermark there, that what you call it.
The chicken place only opened at 11 am we were there at 11:15 and left at 11:40 was starting to get pretty busy then plus they have a drive through as well. I like peanut butter on lotsa things, celery , pancakes , waffles, even a tasty clubhouse I make.

  11. I assume the area where you are is on Grand Lake? The Neosho River that flows on the west side of our Kansas town empties into Grand Lake eventually. Looks like a lovely area for camping.
