Cooler but sunny this afternoon and a final Happy hour with good friends.

Where are we today ?

Now it has cooled down a bit for a few days.  54 F at 5 am this morning but still going to be a decent day. Had a good sleep and once daylight broke ( no visible sunrise today) I got out for a nice walkabout. No plans today just puttering around. Oh yeah just remembered we will need some more water soon.  So is just easy to move the coach 100 yards to the dump station where we can dump our sewage and top up our fresh water and we do have time for that.
Got a few more walkabouts done, couple of miles in by 9 am , Then we decided to head out to the dump station. Well that did not take long 30 minutes  we had secured the coach, pulled over dumped and filled back up and set up again. Chatted with Ron and Freddy for a bit, then they headed into AJO to look around and we whipped up lunch.
By 11 am had warmed up to 60f and still no sun with just a light breeze. I did a drive around Why a few houses there most not too pretty but lived in.
the Why water tower
one monster Saguaro
Back home before noon and began reading again. Finished another book and began another John Sandford novel next one in this series, as usual a good page turner.
Now all of a sudden at 12.05 the clouds went away and the hot sun came out. Wow what a difference, in  no time I was back in my shorts enjoying the desert heat even though it was 63 F.
sunshine yeah!
Ron and Loree back from their tour
After  another couple of walkabouts over to Ron, Loree's and Freddie for our final Happy hour here on this visit , they are heading on down the road in the morning.
Friendly Freddie loves his rubs from Suzie
a few nice desert between their site and ours
we are bundled up in the shade and out of the wind
too dusty in the wind and sun but too cold in the shade?
Before 5 pm we headed home to whip up supper , Tonight a couple of boneless , skinless chicken breasts in our oven with shade and bake. Not a good day for our Weber Q 30 mph wind gusts and hitting the grill right on even with our wind screen it was not practical.
but it was a wonderful afternoon with blue sunny skies
Not long these chicken breasts smelled wonderful in the oven and so tasty and juicy .
added to our salad was wonderful
we did get a very nice desert sunset to wind up our day.
Where did the day go? No idea but it sure was a great one. Thanks for dropping by and hope y'all had a very nice one as well.

Where have we been this Winter?

  1. At least your day improved. All though we did plan on leaving for home today it sure was a cold morning here and just as we started to pack up the wind started blowing. As I was home and settled in the wind really started blowing with 30 mpr gusts. But we didn't see any pretty wild flowers like you have posted.

  3. I'm not sure WHY people want to live in WHY. Maybe it's for the warm winters and isolation, although it hasn't been all that warm THIS year!!

    1. WHY NOT? , its has not been that warm this winter, but the isolation and wide open desert does have a wonderful appeal.

  4. I love all the front porch covers on the houses, reminds me of ours which gives us the shade needed in the summers and some front porch sittin...Freddy is a cutie for sure! The day looks lovely, beautiful sunset and delicious looking dinner!

  6. Another nice day. No rain, no snow, a bit of wind and some cooler temps, what's not to love?
Just a question, why not dump on the way in and out? If we know we are having hook ups, I don't think about dumping before setting up but if not, I try to make certain we have empty tanks so we don't have to pack up to dump and set up again. Although it may not be quite so much work with a motor home as it is with a 5'er. Just a thought.

    1. It sure was a wonderful day. We were empty when we came in and had full water. and know we can do 12 -13 days. but we will be here 15 days. so we had a couple of extra showers. Not a big deal to move the coach, so we will have plenty of water and sewage capacity for the next week when we will dump and fill again.

  9. Windy here too - with the wind it was cold, but without it felt down-right hot. No matter we all had a nice day.
