Still heading west, check out Colaw RV parts again, but it was a cooler overcast drizzly day.

Where are we today ?
Had another great night and we were gonna leave early this morning but really in no hurry. Sun came  up but the fog rolled in. So we just waited for it to burn off. We were on the road at 8:40 this morning all is good.
222 Miles today
foggy this morning so we waited for a while
Then on the back road to I-44 about an hour of lovely country roads.
hilly winding back roads are wonderful
but challenging at times
Now on the interstate making good time.
not much traffic
nice rest area here
Only travelling down the road 222miles to check out Colaw Rv Parts for some used rv parts. Our coach is 16 years old and some parts are no longer available. We stopped by here a 2 years ago and was raining and muddy. They have some parts in the store but the rest you need to cruise the wrecking yard looking for the parts you want. Hmm...  today guess what raining, cold and muddy again when we got there. We checked out the huge parts inventory to no avail. They do have some amazing deals there though, nothing we needed right now. Looking for entry door hinges for our coach, very rare. But we did pick up 2 metal cabinet door struts for our inside cabinets, good deal too.
Shortly after 1 pm pulled  into Colaw rv parts. A huge wrecking yard and some good deals to be had if you have the time. They also sell a lot of new and used Rv's as well.
this place is huge !
We wandered about the store, lotsa new and used rv parts here, good prices too.
headlights, taillights?
furniture, new and used
appliances
doors, almost every thing but the one wanted
If it had not been so cold and rainy we would have taken the time to wander through the wrecking yard, I am sure we would have found what we wanted. It is amazing what we can find here. But we are not desperate yet. They do have some awesome deals here for sure. Like a good used engine (low Mileage) for our coach $2,500.00 dollars. and much more than that too.
After here we moved on down the road to the Flying J in Joplin Mo about 15 minutes. By the time we fuelled and parked it was after 3 pm. Thats it for our day, was productive and we put on a few miles too.
Not only that we found the cheapest fuel yet so far this year, look below; gotta love it !
Now settled in for the night, so nice that we can stay here in close quarters. Only here for the night anyway. Plus our coach is fully functional without opening our slide. Something we looked for years ago when we bought this coach
We discussed some possibilities for the next few days of travel, nothing carved in stone yet, but thats the way we like to travel. Will see what tomorrow brings.
Then I get to whip up supper. Tonight a chicken pot pie. Had some leftover cooked chicken in our freezer and thawed it out. So easy to do when on the road and so very tasty. The recipe is HERE or you can check out my recipe blog on the top right sidebar.
oh so tasty,
enough for 2 meals
added a small salad and sure hit the spot
That was another fun day heading west, getting things done and enjoying the days as we go.
Thanks for dropping by again and really hope you had a great day too!

  3. That looks like an amazing place to stop and spend a few hours at. We had friends stop at a similar one in Florida.

    1. WW could spend quite a while wandering through the yard, but the weather did not co-operate.

  4. Always wondered what happens to some old RVs. Kinda cool. Too bad for the lousy weather though.

  5. We've never been on I-44 but now I know what happens to the old and totaled RV's. That's quite a meal for just an overnight stop - looks very good.

  7. Found your blog today, thanks to Sandie Dixon. Great job! I can't believe I haven't run across it in 10 years of RV blogging "Phannie and Mae." Yours is in my list now. Love the recipes and everything else. I hear you may be doing Blogfest in Quartzsite. I am hoping to attend if it happens, to which end I add my encouragement.

    1. Thanks Mike I have read your blog a few times and enjoy it..
I would love to do the Blogfest, but might be an issue with our aging mothers, like last year.
Gonna see If I can get someone to help, just in case.

  8. I have to stop in Colaws RV store one of these days. Even though I don't need anything for my RV it has to be fun to look!
