Heading to the southwest with a perfect travel day.

Where are we today ?
Great sleep last night and up early as usual. Computing, coffees etc, walkabout down the road, Chat with our host Bill for a while at 7 am, (Barb had already gone to work) Then just puttering around waiting until about 9 am to hit the road. Want to miss the morning rush hour going through Buffalo, and we did,
Perfect travel day, sunshine, no wind and no rain, what more can we ask for ?
322 miles (518 kms) in 6 hours
Left New York State, passed through Pennsylvania into Ohio. No Traffic and made good time.
We stopped at every rest area to get out and stretch then at the Ohio Welcome Centre for noon to whip up a bite to eat for lunch,
Lots of wonderful fall colors along the way,
love the scenery
Arrived at the Flying J Travel centre at 3:10 pm, fuelled our coach and parked at the front in the Rv parking area, we never park at the back where the trucks are. With our Good Sam card we get a 3 cent a galloon discount of fuel plus we like the convenience of the Rv fuel islands, so handy with our coach towing the car.
Fuelled up here at the Flying J $2.00.9 a gallon. Much cheaper than Ontario, Still only .64 cents a litre including the 35% exchange rate, what a deal! Compared to .95 cents a litre back home. Put in 50 gallons only a hundred US dollars ($131.60 Canadian).Would have cost us $189.00  at home! Yep we can afford to head south for the winter and enjoy every minute of it!
2.00.9  galloon ($2.64 Canadian)
Saw this coach below towing a huge trailer. That is a gas coach just like ours. I am sure he is well overweight and probably over length as well. No way we we attempt to do that!
All fuelled up and ready for tomorrow. Nice parking spot and nobody near us either. This works for us. The pumps, store and restaurant is open 24 hours and Suzie likes the security aspect of it as well.
nice spot here
Now I got a few walkabouts the area and check out the store (love looking, but very seldom buy). Some computing done, a bit of reading and our own mini happy hour. Then whip up supper. No Weber Q here in the parking lot, but that ok we do for a change. Will fry up some of our Turkey Garlic Sausage with red peppers, onions and garlic. Add to a salad and we had wonderful supper. After the excess eating the wrong foods, over the weekend we need to get back on track, will feel much better too.
Quick and easy, but would be better on our Weber Q
Sure was tasty though
Now after a great travel day we can relax.  Read for a while, watch the tube for a bit and hit the sack. Another long day again tomorrow and the forecast looks pretty good. Maybe a bit of rain, but don't mind that as long as it is not the white fluffy cold stuff.
Glad you dropped by today checkin us out. Sure feels great to be on the road again. Let's see where we will end up tomorrow night.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Fall and Winter..

  2. That fellow camper must be totally crazy. His engine (and tranny) is never equipped to haul that trailer. Even our Diesel MH was not allowed more than 10K pounds of trailer. Nutcase!

  3. Oh my! I wonder what all that fella has loaded in that trailer. It's way, way too much.

Your site for the evening looks like many we've stayed in. Sometimes those are just perfect for a night on the road. You're sure moving along fast.

  4. Agree with other comments - that's way too much trailer for that coach. Even if it was empty it would be questionable.

    1. I don't think it was empty either, looked pretty heavy on the back of the coach.

  9. That trailer looks a bit much for the coach - Hope they're only traveling on flat land. Aren't these fuel prices just great - we're under $2 here for regular gasoline.

  10. I think that guy needs "Oversized Load" signs and escort cars. What is he thinking? I'd love to see how he turns corners with that setup.

    1. That's for sure.
He came into the Flying J and turned it around, just a large turn he did.

  11. I can't believe that the police let that RVer tow such a large load. Thanks for the reminder about the Good Sam fuel discount as I had totally forgotten that. Have you noticed if diesel is higher or lower that gas? Looks like that sausage survived the border crossing. Here where we cross they always some in and go thru the fridge, freezer and pantry.

    1. The sausage repackaged and looks like pork sausage, same as the burgers.
When they inspect we have to leave the coach so can't ask us?
Diesel is quite a bit more than gas here.
Plus using the good Sam card we got free coffee too.

  12. I agree with Sue Malone - your meals always look so healthy and exceptionally tasty. I like the way you cooked the whole meal in one frying pan. Safe travels. :)
