Where are we today ?
A wonderful morning, sunshine and mild weather. We got our act together this morning to play Holy Board! (
the original washer toss game). Nope it's not a religious thing it's just what they call it here. And every morning at 10 am whoever shows up can play. Cost .25 cents per person and is a lot of fun. Some skill but more luck than anything. It's been a couple years since we have played, but still had fun. Suzie did better than me (thats not unusual). But neither one of us came away with any money. The whole morning cost us a whole dollar, for 90 minutes of fun and socializing. Eight teams of 2 total 16 people today.

After Holy board a quick trip to Buckhorn for a few items and notice someone was filming something by the Big Buck Statue at the liftlock in town.
|
not sure what but a small production |
|
a couple nice big houseboats here too |
Then back home and puttered around for a while cleaning windows and reading for a while until our neighbor Pat informed us it was time for "Happy Hour". So grab a beverage and socialize for a bit (Suzie got her dog fix again, with Billy-Jean))
Then again time to fire up our Q and "Fry Daddy" to grill a couple chicken burgers and homemade fries.

Suzie is great at darts so she does have advantage. So how does the great G - Man make homemade BBQ fries?
ReplyDeleteHomemade fries are not on the BBQ, in the "Fry Daddy"
DeleteSounds like pretty cheap entertainment and it was fun too. Looks like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteYep it is fun to play.
DeleteIn Tennessee they call that game "Cornhole" ... Gotta love it. Nice to see the good weather!
ReplyDeleteThe good weather is awesome.
DeleteI love the blue sky and sunshine I'm seeing in your pics.
ReplyDeleteWe love it too, maybe soon for you.
DeleteI've never heard of "Holy Board." However, I HAVE heard (and played) a game popular among RV-ers called "Pegs and Jokers." It's really fun!
ReplyDeleteYou dinner looks yummy! I wish I were good at the grill!
Don't much care for group card games, but this outside game is fun.
ReplyDeletePractice on the grill, helps.
I've always sworn that you'll never find me in a park around one of those games of Horseshoes, Shuffleboard, Holy Board or whatever as it reminds me too much of an old folks home and I don't want to be old. That said, the game does look like fun but I'll continue to watch it from a distance.
ReplyDeleteDon't much care for most of the other games but the Holy Board here is fun and most of the people are our age or younger, sometimes even kids play too.
DeleteNow down south is a different story in 55 plus parks.
We really enjoy playing Holy Board, but here in Ohio we call it West Virginia horseshoes. Why...who knows.
ReplyDeleteNo matter what you call it still a fun easy game. Enjoy!
