Much warmer, though windy and rainy , but we got more things taken care of.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Much milder over night, 47F (8.3C) at  4 am.  No colourful sunrise this morning and looks like it will be a very nice day, maybe some rain, later on. A quick trip to Plattsville, chat with a  couple Guys at Pettigrews for a few minutes then the Home Hardware to fill up or 2.5 gallon RO water jug. Chat with Kim there (love her smiling face) and check out their store greeter. A friendly puppy (Diesel). What a cute puppy and he loves people.
This is one excellent Hardware store right in town
Diesel looking out the door
this be Diesel 6 months old
Kim gave him a treat after shaking a paw
too cute
Then shortly after 9 am I took Suzie to New Hamburg  she stopped by her Dad's for a couple of minutes, to print off a spread sheet of her Dads she has been working on, then dropped her at Life Labs to get her blood work done. While she was there I whipped around the corner to No Frills for a few grocery supplies, picked her back up and home before 11 am. Had a light tasty lunch then headed out for a walkabout down the road. A much more comfortable 67F (19C), well I got to the end of the laneway out of the trees, and the wind from the south west hit me. Cold wind gusts to 32 mph (not nice), and some rain sprinkles. Hmm guess not. So back home to putter around for a while and enjoy some more reading inside.
The  vampires here took her blood.
Now another quiet relaxing afternoon enjoying our reading for a while. Suzie commuting for her Dad, and went back to town to help him out a bit more.
For supper tonight I am roasting a 7.5 lb Turkey I picked up the other day on sale.at $1.09 a lb, good deal. Too wet and windy to do on our Weber today. To go with this I will make some cranberry sauce with Orange zest for the recipe you can click HERE or my recipe blog top right sidebar. As well as mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies and my salad, Nice to share this with Dennis and Sandy and still have leftovers. For lunches and soup.
so much flavour from this zest
making the orange zest
now to boil these down into a very tasty
 cranberry sauce, is easy
these were frozen same as fresh
This is the turkey I picked up, perfect size and for a good price  so tasty.
About 3 hours in their oven and turned out perfect . Crispy on the outside and nicely brown juicy on the inside.
let it rest for a while while I made
the gravy and mashed the taters
yup did the trick
After this tasty meal and conversation we headed back home , still raining  and no sunset , so a wonderful quiet evening toasty warm inside, reading for a while and watch a show on the tube.
Even though was a nice much warmer day, the cold wind and rain kinda put a damper on it, but we had alternate plans and made good use of them with a very tasty turkey dinner.
Thanks for joining us today and hope y';all had a great day as well. Happy Easter to you as well.
Tomorrow is Good Friday and we will be travelling a couple of hours joining with my 3 kids and 8 grands for our Easter get together. Another fun day we are looking forward to.

  3. Like the clever logo of Home Hardware - is that bookends? or more likely fireplace irons? Turkey looks awesome! Mom used to scold me for eating the cranberries raw, still enjoy them fresh - cooked or not - cans lack the flavor.

    1. The logo I think is 2 H's back to back holding up a roof. and are amazing the products they carry or can get. I do love this fresh cranberry sauce , with orange zest and dried cranberries on my salad and cereals.. cans do lack the flavour.

  11. Diesel is quite the nice looking dog and his temperament looks excellent as a a greeter. He has a future for Walmart if he wants. Turkey dinner just looked fabulous. Was in southern Mississippi yesterday and Tornadoes went by there also. From a humid 80 to 60. Glad I am not back to Ontario yet to experience the cold.
