A perfect travel day and getting together with some family for dinner.

Where are we today ?

Late morning here and I slept in ! Wow what the heck 6:30 this morning guess my body did not want us to leave. But got my oatmeal, eaten, coffees consumed, some computing done and only a 1/2 mile walkabout. We secured the coach, unhooked from power and were on the road as planned at 8 AM. First stop the Flying J,  30 minutes north to top up our propane and continued up I-75 north bound. Stopped at a few rest areas to stretch and carried on. Not much traffic today.
a nice sunrise on our site
lovely pond reflections
heading north on I-75
Crossed into Michigan and the usual bad road, the first sign I saw was  Pot hole hot line and a phone number ! That about says it all, A few construction zones but good travelling , whipped on by Detroit , and 96 to 94 to Port Huron Michigan. Once past Detroit 94 was a good drive, making good time.
I-94 a very nice quiet drive
We stopped at the last rest area in Michigan here about 11:30 made lunch, and carried on another 20  Miles to Fuel up in Marysville  Michigan, just 20 miles before be cross the border at Port huron . The Blue water Bridge into Canada. The only slow down we had today was the line up to pay the toll for the the bridge.
crossing the bridge to Canada
no lineup at customs
A couple of quick questions and we were back into Canada another easy border crossing.
Here in Ontario , Open for Business
love the sign
hwy 402 a nice drive we love
then at Strathroy take the back roads to New Hamburg
passed a few nice horse farms and stables along the way
a nice operation here
love these back roads
We arrived at Suzie's brothers' Place at 3:40 pm 20 minutes later than usual. backed into our usual spot got set up  Suzie and Sandy (SIL) went and picked up her Dad at 4:15 , and back here. She helps me fine tune the satellite dish, then Visited with her Dad. for a bit.
That all done and when Dennis git back from chores we headed into Plattsville to the Trails Edge. For their Wing night, Love their wings here and have been craving them for quite a while. & of us had to wait about 20 minutes for a table , but worth the wait, Jen our favourite waitress has been here forever took care of us right away.
Really like the food here
always good and always busy
waiting for our table
We were seated and all together with Suzie's family.
LR, Suzie's sister Rose, me, Suzie, her Dad,
brother dennis, SIL Sandy, and BIL Ross.
Our food came Suzie and I shared 17 breaded wings, with suicode sauce on the side, large fries, celery and carrots, with ranch and blue cheese.
we sure had a feed of wings
of course I have my hot sauce to spruce up their
Suicide make it better
We have wonderful meal and fun family time catching up the  soon to head back home shortly after 8 pm Gonna bee a cold night tonight around freezing but we will be toasty warm inside.

  6. Before you crossed the border back to Canada did you not have to stop to turn in your six month permit to be in the USA?

Glad you are back home among family and friends. Got a kick out of your new countdown clock for when you return :)

    1. We don't turn in a permit like in Mexico our days in the states are tracked through our passports. We still actually have 7 days left that we can use. before the fall.
Nice to see everyone again here and lots more to see over the summer. The count is on when we can head south again. to the south that we love.

  10. Welcome Home. You've done this trip so many times that I consider you pros. All of the return trip well planned, calculated and carried out with no stress. Ontario is a bit moody weather wise but if you are busy with the family you won't notice.
