Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
After another good nights sleep up early getting coffees consumed and waiting for the sunrise and this morning did no disappoint us again. A nice walkabout for a while, puttered around for a while then packed up our satellite dish, hooked up the car and head on out to Quartzsite Arizona, where we will hang out there for a while. We always enjoy this area as well as the many areas we  return to.
really we had to go here today!
a wonderful desert sunrise this morning
We left the Hot Springs at 8:45 California Time and arrived shortly afternoon noon Arizona time, headed east on I-8 and north on 95 to Quartzsite 127 miles.

heading east past the sand dunes
that we love
North on 95 pasta so many wonderful crops in this area. workers in the fields here is amazing .
The by the proving grounds for the US Army we have pasted by many times and you will as well you travel this road.
Now continuing up 95 to Quartzsite after the proving grounds.
Heading it to Q and the Big tent is almost ready to go for Jan 19th when all hell brakes loose here.
First stop was to top up our propane. It has been almost 6 weeks and we were just about empty. That taken care of we found a wonderful sunny spot in the desert.  Set up blocking the light north wind and it was very hot in the sun, yup this is good.
what a nice quiet spot we have
and no road noise at all
so quiet and peaceful here
no close neighbours either
now to enjoy this awesome weather
love the clear blue sunny skies
Then we can enjoy our e-readers in the shade aways form this intense sun, this be the weather here we love. It will cool down a bit but heck this sunshine is amazing.
yes this is nice
For supper tonight Suzie is cooking so we both have a craving for Pizza at Silly Al's. It has been a longtime and we were due for one of their awesome pizzas.
almost sunset when we headed out at 4:30
Got here at 4:40 and as usual the place is packed,
but we did get a table for 2 right away
over there is quiet right now
Service was excellent, drinks and food order taken right away, and about 30 minutes for our amazing pizza have not had many better than here except when I made them in my restaurant.
the guys in the Kitchen do an amazing job
with these pizzas
While we were waiting i whipped outside to grab a sunset shot. Before I missed it.
another nice sunset from Silly Al's
Then our pizza arrived and was done to perfection,. Only a medium meat lovers but we could not eat out all so guess we have more leftovers to take care of, No  problem makes for a tasty lunch.
if you have not had Silly Al's Pizza,
you 'don't know what you are missing
Now back home to kick back finish this posting and soon call it a night.
Nothing quite like some quiet desert time to enjoy these wide open spaces.
Thanks for dropping on by today.

  1. Is the LTVA permit you purchased at the Hot Springs also valid here?, they are both BLM LTVA areas. You're there early enough to setup in your 'prime'spot! Enjoy the pizza while you can, Al's is going to get busy!

    1. The LTVA permit is good for all of these areas so we use the permits and keep on moving. There is lots of prime spots so that is not a problem here. Al's is busy already, no problem getting a table for 2.

  10. For the first time since December 14, 2018, I received you blog by email. I don't have any idea why it stopped and don't know why it decided to start up again. I've gone through all the motions and nothing worked so I gave up on it about a week ago. Today I open my emai and there it was. Take care.

  12. That pizza does look delicious andI can’t wait to try one myself and Benno too, I’m sure of it. You’ll probably get some neighbors when the tent starts but there must be enough room to fit several hundred rigs. Maybe we’ll run into you during the show. Anyway enjoy the time out there!
