Why? Why not enjoy an ice cream this afternoon.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
A good nights sleep and up early as usual. It was 40F outside at 4 am so turning on our blue flame heater we quickly got warmed up. At 7 am daylight was arriving so got outside for my first walkabout exploring more roads and trails around the large campground. Got 3 miles in today and feels good.
Wandering new roads , so nice to see different scenery every day and this amazing desert vistas. Clear blue skies and with the sun rising temperatures rising quickly.
lotsa Saguaro cactus here we love
nice to see a lighthouse here in the desert
the hills on the north of this campground
whats not to love about these views?
I carried on walking on a new road and so peaceful , like being all by myself.
love this cool trailer a blast from the past
Then checked out the clubhouse, always a puzzle on the go (Patsy) and so many more there to do as well.
The library here is HUGE exchange books, below is only a pert on it.
more of the libary
hard cover books and movie to exchange as well
Back home at 10 am noticed our solar was charging at 4.2 amps in full sun. Ok with the lower level  of the sun at this time of year, guess I will tilt our one panel . Up on the roof and tilted then checked we are  charging at 11.5 amps. Yahoo that is much better. By noon we are at a full charge.
our panel tilted and we good to go,
not many neighbousr here right now . love it!
so much open space here and friendly people
After a light lunch we enjoyed our page turners for a while in the shade of our awning. I did get a new haircut as well, perfect hot weather for it, Suzie does an amazing job.
Then at about 2 pm we decided on the very hot day think we need an ice cream. Why not? So over to the Why Not store and picked up a couple of treats for us, Perfect on a hot sunny winter day.
these just hit the spot today
gotta love these sunny blue skies
Soon it was time for supper, another treat for us, Beef liver, with Bacon. onions. fried potatoes, and heat up a can of creamed corn, all done one our weber Q
quick, easy and so tasty a treat we both enjoy
Suzie is the lover of creamed corn so I had a bit and she enjoyed the rest. The liver, Bacon and onions, fried potatoes  we're excellent as always
this hit the spot and we both enjoyed
Nothing too exciting for you but was for us. Just enjoying this very nice sunny warm winter day here in the southwest. The reason that we are here.
      Thanks for dropping by,

  2. Some how missed Monday's post, love the old truck fountain. What big library they have. plenty of books and puzzles. The Why Not store was kind of funny.
You said the folks you met and helped set up their tv stay the entire season? That's great at those prices.

  4. Nice picture of the park from the rooftop, it looks quite nice there without being desolate. We like other campers semi-close like that.

    1. Most everyone has solar and with the sunshine pretty much don't need one.. So much space you can run a generator, hours are 8am till 12:30pm then 3:30 till 9 pm only.
Daytime here nice and warm in the sunshine, the usual cool desert nights.

  7. Ah...the liver and onions looked awesome. Going to have to take a run into the store today to get some for supper. For Jeepers, one of the things I like about the Why area, is the accessibility to the off roads just across from the park. You can go all the way down to the Mexican border on the old roads.

  8. George, how many watts of solar do you have? What household items do you run on solar? How about a microwave? We just have a small one for trickle charging our battery over the winter and while we are in transit on long trips. So, that means we use a lot of RV parks with electric.

    1. Dee , we have 230 watts of solar, 2 6 volt trojan batteries, Keeps out batteries charged, and a 1000 watt pure sine wave inverter, all we run is the tv, charge our electronic equipment. I can do without a microwave, and we have a stove top perk for coffee. We have no need for electricity most of the year so the boondocking is what we prefer and less expensive too.

    1. Yes they are, we invested in them spring 2007 and have paid us back 10 fold plus.

  12. We only have 64 watts per each of our three solar panels for a total of 192 watts. Way back in 2001 they didn't have the higher watt units that they now have.
