Where are we today ?

Up early as usual and when the sun came up I headed out for a good walkabout looking for another desert sunrise and did not disappoint me.me and my very tall shadow joining me |
At 8:30 this morning we put a call through to daughter number 1. She sent me a text and wanted to catchup up with us. All about our cruise and how our grands are doing all 3 of them. About an hour we chatted so nice to hear her voice again.Everyone there is doing well, the grands are doing great in school, what more can we hope for? Do we miss them? Yep, but will see them all in the spring
If you have an rv these detectors need to be changed every 5 years and these ones we have tell you when it is time, So I pulled them out and checked my install date. They were installed Dec 17th 2013 almost 5 years to the day. So to be safe I went to the rv place around the corner (RV City) from us and got 2 new ones. We know they are not cheap but no matter what our lives depend on these in an rv.
They gave me a really good deal on these, pricey here but gave me a discount of over 50 dollars. but still price, no matter we have them right now and installed and maybe Suzie will get a better sleep tonight
I put the install date on the outside so I know when they are due |
I finished a J.A. Jance book and started into the next one in this series with Ali Reynolds/
another good page turner |
really love these desert skies |
we are enjoying this site here and the area |
about 5 pm the sun is beginning to set then while making supper it was gone. |
this pork roast was excellent. internal temp 150F so moist tender and juicy |
tasty? It sure was |
After supper put our chairs and Weber Q away, even our water hose so we can head out in the cool morning air whenever the mood strikes us.
Hope you enjoyed a wonderful day as well and thanks for dropping on by.

Where have we been this Winter?
Nice sunrise picture.
ReplyDeleteSuzie is a lot nicer then I am...I would have poked Tom...lol
Safe Travels!
She fixed them sooner that would have gotten out of bed. Did not poke me either.
DeleteSafe travels to you guys as well.
Years ago we got rid of all of the "detectors". We no longer run anything overnight, so never have to worry about anything waking us.
ReplyDeleteEach to their, own our propane one has saved us a couple of times, when the stove burner accidentally got turned on. And the CO one once in our house with a defective gas furnace
DeleteYour post brought back memories from when Joe flew back to Oregon and our alarm went off. I was knocking on your door really early and you figured out how to reset the alarm. Thank you again 🤗
ReplyDeleteYes Betty I remember that time, you were fit to be tired But we took care of it.
DeleteIt's great that these alarms let you know it's time for new ones. I have a carbon one and smoke ones and I hadn't realized it had been 5 yrs since I had purchased the Carbon Monoxide when I changed the battery and it still kept goig off and nothing was running, so I went and bought a new one and was told about the 5 yr replacement.
ReplyDeleteThe 5 years replacement is not widely publicized especially by the RV manufacturers. and it should be.
DeleteI replaced mine when it was only two years old. Kept going off constantly ... in fact, I finally just cut the wire to shut it up. Probably due for a new one now. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteYour welcome, I like to make sure everything works properly this being our home.
DeleteI replaced ours this past summer. I take pictures of the receipt then I know when they were purchased without keeping a lot of paper around.
ReplyDeletePerhaps a ratchet strap will help secure that new chair. There must be tie down holders for the other chair already.
Safe travels.
Suzie files these receipts and we know where they are.
DeleteI have ratchet straps and there is 4 bolts sticking out of the floor that the other chair was bolted too.
But I want to make a nice looking securing place for it.

ReplyDeleteI agree with that completely. Our smoke detectors are position it pretty good locations not usually a problem. We want the propane detector is our Kitchen and the CO in the bedroom where they originally located, so did not get a combo one.
DeleteThanks for the good advice George.
ReplyDeleteGlad that I did it not everyone remembers to check them.
DeleteOur stove does not have a detent for the dials when they are in the 'Off' position. I've turned one just by bumping into it. The CO alarm rattled loose driving I-10 in Louisiana. AS for the smoke alarm I consider that the 'breakfast bell'
ReplyDeleteOur stove has done the same thing nice to have the detector.
DeleteThere is a few rough spots on I-10 but mostly good we have four. The breakfast bell is can sure be.
My wife and I always feel much better in the dry Arizona desert air versus the damp, humid East Texas air. But one has to breathe the air that is around him.
ReplyDeleteLove the dry desert air and we too both feel mush better here.
DeleteThose detectors are designed to always sound off in the middle of the night. :c)
ReplyDeleteWe agree because thats when they usually do it.
DeleteGreat advice and a timely reminder.
ReplyDeleteWorks for us a reminder for you guys as well.
DeleteI thought the replacement interval on those things was 7 years. Hmmm, I better keep my eyes open for some replacements soon.
ReplyDeleteI sure miss those crystal clear desert skies. Enjoy!
They say 5 to 7years but ours were done so now is the time to be safe.
