Sunshine , warm weather, what more can we hope for?

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Another wonderful desert night's sleep ending with a great morning sunrise on my walkabout. Full sun clear blue skies and next to no wind. It feels so good to be here.
even some desert blooms I saw
love walking these trails in the desert so peaceful here
many sites are decorated and this be
the site where Santa Clause lives
Then I made a quick trip to Olson's IGA in Ajo just for a few veggies, and home by shortly after 9am.
the finings from the copper mine here in AJO
more finings over there as well
Got home and deployed our awning for some shade from this intense sun. Then made a favourite for Suzie's for lunch, when I had the restaurant, most Saturday mornings she enjoyed this western  or a clubhouse sandwich. Hmm I have not made that for a while either. We have not had this for quite a while. Toasted western with cheese. Easy and quick 2 eggs, chopped ham and onion then melt some cheese once it is set then fold over twice , oh yummy.
toasted western with cheese a big seller in my restaurant
and one of Suzie's favourites
I noticed this morning our batteries got a full charge by 10 , so all is good in that department.
After lunch I took a drive down the road to a BLM places we have stayed at before Gunsight Wash. A great place to stay and is free for 14 days. Noticed no host there this year and not many people camping either. Pretty well wide open and so many wonderful boon docking spots to enjoy.
Gunsight Wash a wonderful area we enjoyed
so many excellent sites here. like  this is one
another one here
Back home to relax in shade and enjoy this wonderful sunny day. With Suzie, enjoying our reading. I read for a bit walk around a bit, read some more putter around, topped up our batteries, gotta keep moving . Needed up with almost 4 miles done today.
mid afternoon a moon in the sky
A nice happy hour with Suzie then time to whip up supper. Just before the sunsets and cools off.
the sun is setting as supper is almost done
love the sunsets on the mountains to the east as well
Supper tonight is to pan fry a couple of catfish fillets on our cast iron pan heated on our Weber Q.
heated up a 1/2 lemon on our Weber to make it juicy for the fish
The catfish turned out wonderful to go along with our tasty salad.
we do  love our catfish
Hey we had another wonderful  day enjoying this amazing December weather, outside enjoying the fresh air , sunshine and in shorts most of the day, What's not to love about that?
Thanks for dropping by to see what we doing. Not much, but we are living our dream.

  1. A nice relaxing day. We talked about staying at Gunsight Wash this trip but due to no cell service we avoided the area.

  2. Oh no cell service, that may be a big problem for most folks these days. I remember how crowded it would get before the big cell and internet days.

That Western sandwich looks sooo good.

  4. I enjoyed these views. Mining does leave an eyesore doesn't it. I've screenshot the recipe. In a feeling slim day I'm going to make that. Oh a book for you, Extinction point by Paul antony Jones. I can't put it down.

  5. All those spots look nice, but I'm always afraid of getting stuck. I'd be up you-know-what creek. I love seeing your blue skies.

    1. They are beautiful spots , but solid dessert ground. We have been in there with out coach and had no problems at all. These clear blue skies are amazing.

  6. I was thinking the same thing as Nancy. It looks sandy and without a 4-wheel drive sand always worries me.
We eat westerns a fair bit. I call them toasted omelette sandwiches because I start out with all the ingredients for an omelette before deciding whether we're having them on toast or not. Nice in a hamburger bun too. See you guys tomorrow!

  9. We spent the month of June at Coyote Howls West and enjoyed the area and the town of Ajo very much. We had planned to spend the winter there, but had to leave suddenly and return back to St. Augustine due to a health issue which has since been resolved. Loved our daily visits to the Why Not Grocery! Jim Bob in St. Augustine
