Old recliner gone, new one installed and another wonderful sunny day.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Just another great sleep last night , windows open and feels awesome, the fresh, desert dry air, clear blue skies and not too cold, This is what we love about the southwest and why we are here. Nothing quiet like it.
As the sun rose at 7 am I headed out for a nice long walkabout around the park did manage 2 miles this morning just enjoying  the peace a quiet here and say hi to a few other people walking as well.
the sun in the clouds west of us
then as the sun is rising looks wonderful
Now trying to decide what to do with our recliner we want to get rid of.  3 people we talked to did not want it, The Park did not want it when they found out what it was. So Suzie made a few phone calls the land fill in Huachuca city will take it, only 4 miles away. But we have to bring it there. Ok we decided way too big and heavy for our car. So we secured our coach and made the 4 mile drive there. We were supposed to pay but the friendly guy there said no problem, no charge, and if you need a hand I can help you.
But it was ready to go unbolted for the floor and all we had to do was drag it outside and into a bin. Suzie helped me this chair is well over 100 lbs but we did it! Thank Suzie she is amazing.
this was a nice recliner but too expensive to maintain
landfill can have it, good-bye recliner
The cables to fix it were about $180.00. And the chair that I found at Staples on sale for $179.00. When I checked on line it was only $139.00,  Ok done deal. From the land fill to Staples in Sierra Vista. Got the chair for the online price and and a 7 year warranty. Into the coach and back to the campground before noon. Before we set up I replaced another compartment  door lift under our slide. All set up and enjoyed a light tasty lunch.
After lunch I spent about an hour assembling this chair and got it all set up. Not really an rv chair but is exactly what I wanted, extremely comfortable , reclines the way I want and has a lumbar support and head rest.
so much smaller than our old heavy one
yes this is what I want
reclines perfectly I just need to do some modifications in the future
oh my I am going to love this chair
All that done now we can enjoy some wonderful sunshine outside and right back into our page turners again for a while.  65F in the shade but very warm in the afternoon sun, Short weather for sure.

gotta love this warm sunny weather!
Soon time for supper so I whipped up a salad, and grilled a couple of salmon fillets to go with it.
salmon on the grill on foil
this was so very tasty and hit the spot tonight
No visible sunset tonight, so no picture at least we had an amazing sunrise this morning.
We want to thank y'all for stopping on by for a visit and hope you had a wonderful day as well

  1. Your new chair looks comfy! If ever wat to try a restaurant in Sierra Vista I highly recommend the Landmark Cafe https://www.landmark-cafe.com/
Joe and I have eaten there many times and He loved the Schnitzel. They have local entertainment and the music is great.

  12. Your old one looks too nice to got to the landfill, hopefully someone takes it home from there! When we were kids used to love going "dump shopping" so hope they do that there. Your new one looks wonderful! Beautiful sunrise pics! Dinner looks amazing too!

    1. It looks nice but needs to be bolted to the floor and not as comfortable as it looks. The landfill has a guard and a gate, we had to throw it in a bin. The new one is wonderful.
Desert sunrises are usually awesome and dinner very tasty.

  13. Stream lined looking new chair. If those are castors I'd remove them before you go for a ride you don't want to take. Enjoy the chair George.

  15. I’d never even heard of computer gaming chairs but what you have now is somewhat similar to my preferred seating for both office & home lounging for TV & reading. (I have a couple of the Steelcase Leap chairs in the reclining & height adjustable "WorkLounge" version + ottomans.)

The lumbar cushioning & side bolsters on your chair will provide better all-day bone support than a cushy recliner that your spine crumples up & gets lost in, IMO. Bigger is not always better.

Plus you’ll get the extra bonus as an RVer that it’s less bulky & much lighter so your engine doesn’t have to lug around the extra pounds!

I agree about the casters, though. One thing I'd always wondered is how I'd install my Leap WorkLounge in a MH so I'm interested to see what you come up with.

    1. I agree with the comfort and support, this is so comfortable. Never heard of a gaming chair before either.
Without the castors I need to raise the chair 1 inch off the floor to clear the lifting mechanism.
My plan is to built a short platform, secure it to the floor, Screws through the legs to secure the chair and cover the platform with the extra flooring we have back home. Which we won't have access to until later next spring. In the meantime it works. And does not move around. I may need a bungie cord to keep in from swivelling while we travel.
When it is eventually done it will look nice.
