First day back home on land, enjoying this weather and a doggie fix for Suzie.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Back home in our own bed and slept very well, but miss the movement of the ship. Slept right through until 5 am woke up wondering where are we? Hmm, had to take a peek and realized back in our coach in a campground. Outta bed and had trouble walking, seems I don't have my land legs yet, after bring at sea for a week. Suzie got up and stumbled around saying the same thing. 46F at this time.
After some coffees and computing waiting for the sunrise, I did a short walkabout then into town to explore and stock up on a few needed supplies. I first stopped at the Willis Market, love going in this store , listening to Mexican music, seeing all the piñatas ( hanging from the ceiling) and checking out all their interesting foods they have here, almost like being in Mexico.
always enjoy checking out this store
Christmas piñatas.
Then to the large Kroger grocery store to get what we need for the next few days. Always some deal to be had here, it is one huge store!
fresh Christmas trees here ready to sell
they are about $70. and up
glad we don't do that anymore
Back home for a walkabout and checking for a package we are expecting. Not here yet hopefully today. Then a light tasty lunch and then afternoon reading in the sun 65F and a few more walkabouts enjoying this dryer air and sunshine. Checked our tires, dumped our sewage and checked our oil, hoping to be on the road in the morning.
beautiful clear blue skies today
loving it
As we were reading outside a lady walked by with her 2 dogs, stopped to chat for a while and Suzie got a very nice doggie fix.
very nice friendly dogs, they sure like Suzie
Still checking on our package, it left Houston this morning just after 7 am for delivery. Houston only 1 hour south. But no sign of it by 3:30pm. So I did a quick trip to the Willis post office and has not arrived there yet. But could come in and be scanned overnight, If that happens I can go there early in the morning pick it up and secure our coach and be on our way. If not looks like we may be staying  here a bit longer.
By 4:45 pm it was cooling down and the sun setting so inside to while up supper. Preheat our oven to bake some salmon fillets while I made a salad.
not a bad sunset but the wires kinda spoil it
this was supper and sure hit the spot
All the food on our cruise was wonderful , but we ate a bit too much. Nice to get back to our controlled eating, portions and healthier foods.
I did actually get 3.5 miles walked today, not as easy walking as on the ship, gotta watch where I am stepping.
Where did the day go? Not sure but we both enjoyed the relaxing quiet sunny day back at our home again.
Thanks once again for joining us and if our package comes in overnight we will be on the road in the morning, If not, we play it by ear , we don't have many plans,  just the way we love  living this lifestyle.

  1. From your pictures I would say that is a very festive store. The best thing about the lifestyle and being retired, for the most part, no schedules to keep. So if you leave in the morning, safe travels, if not then enjoy your day at the park.

    1. It is a festive store, and all the different foods to explore with the music etc.
We have no schedules to keep so we are good, just go with the flow, we just have the urge to get back on the road again. No problem enjoying another day here at all.

  4. I was wondering if a week long cruise would be enough to develop 'sea legs', you seem to have adjusted just fine. Welcome back to tierra firma and your travels.

    1. Thanks Jeff.
Funny the cruise suits us very nicely don't notice the sea legs until we got off the ship. Terra firms does not move with the waves lol.

  6. It's funny how our brain adjusts to the rolling ocean so easily, but takes much longer to adjust back to land. For me, I just had to keep moving. Every time I sat down I got dizzy! Hope your package arrived!!

  8. You're missing the movement of a ship? You must have been a seaman in a previous life! :cD

    1. Maybe I was, I know we spent many years at our courage on a lake lake in Ontario with a small boat and loved it.
