Amazing spring weather here and just enjoying the day. how about you?

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
So peaceful here and after a great nights sleep up early as usual hopping for a nice sunrise and we were not disappointed.
what a wonderful sunrise to start a perfect day
Then about 7:30 I headed out for my first walkabout enjoying the quite roads through this desert campground as the sun warmed the day and hit out solar panels charging our batteries. Fully charged by noon, gotta love it even with a few clouds here and there. No need to tilt our panel now at this time of year with longer hours of sunlight and the sun higher in the sky.
this a place we really enjoy
the roads and trails so nice
looks like this Cholla is making babies!
love the views
this guy is still trying to catch the big one here
Next walkabout around the park, over to the Why Not store, just because I could, always like to check it out there.
Why Not?
love this old truck when the water is flowing
A coyote still hanging out here
people must feed him
Now with this intense sun we had own awning opened by 10 am and even though it was only 65F and a 5 mph wind from behind us, we needed some of that shade, nice to be able to still wear shorts. And enjoy this weather.
what a perfect place to hang out
over view , not to shabby
After lunch a couple more miles around the campground enjoying the scenery and quiet here with this desert place we enjoy.
they even have a handicap washroom and shower here as well
Now enjoying the shade and our e-readers on a perfect spring day, watching the wild life, Today only this tiny critter that kept popping out here and there, Did manage to get a quick shot , not great but there he is.
not sure what he is but cute and quick
A bit later saw some Gamble's Quails skitter on by but too quick for me to get a picture, Always love to see and here them here in the desert.
we do have a nice spot
A bit later I prepped some Baby back ribs for our Weber Q that we like to do with sauerkraut , for the recipe you can click here or my recipe blog top right sidebar.
after a couple of hours low and slow, glazed them on our grill mat
with our favourite BBQ sauce
salad, kraut and fall off the bone sticky ribs
awesome!
Supper done and now to enjoy a wonderful desert sunset after a perfect sunny desert day.
How can we get so lucky? To be able to enjoy this weather and living our dream.
not bad at all, we will take it
Ok we had a great day no rain, enough sunshine , warm enough for shorts, no bugs, no wind, no rain. Wonderful sunrise and sunset, and a tasty dinner with my honey. Does not get much better than this.
Thanks again for stopping by and I just know you had a wonderful day as well, wherever you are.

  1. Got to have a coyote at Coyote Howls. Looked liked he was going for a Raven for a snack. Still nice and warm your way. I think we all are going to have a day or two of cool next week, but that's okay.
Continue to enjoy one of your favorite places.

    1. Thanks Doug a few coyotes around here, and some burros are in the area as well. Cooler is ok as lone as we have sunshine, sure beats the cold and snow back home.

  3. Love the views there, always something to see.

    Dinner looked excellent as always.

I agree with you, looks like the rain is over now, no snow, no bugs, the biggest issue is what to wear, shorts or long pants. It doesn't get much better.

    Enjoy your stay!!!!

    1. Thanks Deb, we will enjoy it here.
The views are very nice, we have been lucky with no rain yet, most every day is shorts once the sun comes up. I agree it doesn't get much better than this.

    1. We do enjoy this area so peaceful. The old car waterfall was not here last year that's why you did not see it.

  7. We've overnighted at Coyote Howls West with FHU for $20, which I thought was a fair price with good WiFi. On the East side it looks like there are lots of boondocking spots and more 'character'. The 'coyote and the crow' - I think there is an Indian legend in that pair.

    1. We have checked out CH west but like this much more for $40.00 a week with good wifi most of the time.
There is a legend about the coyote and the crow this be the link http://www.firstpeople.us/FP-Html-Legends/Coyote-And-Crow-Yakima.html.

  8. Great sunrise and sunset pictures! so pretty..The coyote looks well fed, not like most that you see, all scruffy and thin. Too bad people are feeding him obviously. I can see why you like that park, great amenities but you still have a lot of space..nice.

  9. It looks like a nice peaceful spot you have and are enjoying. Natural to see a coyote there!
Ribs look good, I should ours out of the freezer so we can have them tomorrow. No sauerkraut though, Bill doesn't like it anyway.
Keep on enjoying. We got lucky yesterday too with just the little bit of sun we had, we were fully charged early too.
