Back in our house good as new, gotta love it! Relocate to Plattsville to recharge. Thanks Sicards!

Where are we today ?

A great nights sleep again, up early and a walkabout the area.
walk down to lake,
cat tails you just know its fall soon
small waves lapping the shore on Lake Ontario
Grabbed an early  coffee and juice when they opened the breakfast room at 6:30. And split a toasted bagel with Suzie. Some computing done and long hot showers. Then  down to make a Belgium waffle and more coffee before the room is locked at 10 am.
Checked out of our rooms 11 am,  then back to Sicard Rv. The fuel tank has been removed, and fuel pump installed, now just to patch the access holes in the compartments and reinstall the levelling jacks and supports. Once thats done we can put our compartment stuff back in so I will know where everything is again.
Bonus with dropping the fuel tank they found out  that the fuel line from the top of the tank had been chewed, thats why it would not run the genny.  They just added about 2 feet of new line and should be good as new. So got 2 things fixed at the same time.
holes in 4 compartments all sealed up
while waiting Suzie got her doggie fix
Now they were done early afternoon and we could reload our compartments (my request). They added fuel to our gas tank checked everything over. Took it for a test run and fired up the generator all is working perfect.
Fuel pressure is where it needs to be  and everything works the way it is supposed to.
It was a major job and we knew that when we took it in. I was able to be there talk to the 2 mechanics and very co-operative they were. Job done on time and the the bill very reasonable. Sicards has always treated us fairly and over the last 9 years, we will always return to them no questions asked. Some people have had issues, but we have never ever had a problem, best dealer and service place we have ever been too.
All wrapped up and ready to go by 4:15 .
Now to hook up the car and head back to Plattsville for the weekend.
Got here at 5:45 all set up and very hungry so in the car, around the corner to the Trails Edge in town, yes we can celebrate !  Large pitcher of ice cold beer, garlic bread, my Suicide wings and fries, Caribbean breaded white fish and a caesar salad for Suzie.
Suzie's fish plate
my wing feast
back home to relax for a bit
before calling it a night
So nice to be back in our home. We missed it so much. Then next few days we will erase the chalkboard and work on a new plan for tis winter.
Thanks again for stopping in and visiting our home.
Enjoy this Labor Day weekend , we will just sit tight here and enjoy the peace and quiet. Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Spring and Summer.

  1. Good to know the RV is ready to get on the road and everything is working. It's just a short time until you'll be trying it out for your winter travels.

  2. Well at least you bonused with the generator fuel line repair at the same time. Curious as to why you don't post the repair price, or at least the number of hours they charged you for. I always do that so that anybody in the world who has the same problem might come across this blog post while doing research (the same way that you did) so that they know what to expect, or at least have an idea...

    1. Never thought of it to be honest with you. We were billed 16.5 hours at $120.00 an hour, It was in the shop 3 full days with 2 mechanics working of it most of the time on it.
The rear levelling jacks and support had to be removed first, to access the bolts for the fuel tank to the frame thus the holes cut in the compartments. The nuts on the back side were not secure as this was installed on a bare chassis. When they reassembled it the nuts were welded making the next removal much, much easier. Hopefully not by us.

  5. Glad to hear you are ready to hit the road again after your stay at home base for a bit. Nothing like having rodents eat at your lines, but good thing they located it, I would think that could cause a huge problem down the line.
May your travels be on the wings of God’s Angels
    Till next time
