Hey we going somewhere, down the road to Cambria New York yippee!

Where are we today ?
Today we can go away for a week yahoo ! Early morning walkabouts town and took my umbrella just cause it supposed to rain. And yep it did  rain,  heading back from the garage, big down pour, But I kept pretty dry except my feet. We just waiting for the down pour to slow down a bit and did by 8:45. We packed up and on the road by 9:30 am.
Heading to LazyLakes Resort in Cambria New York, another membership park in our system. Yep we like the free camping and hook ups too.
only a couple hour drive
but rained al the way.
The border crossing at Queenston/ Lewiston not to bad about a 20 minute line up. But then they decided to check our coach, only about 10 minutes. But this time no raw poultry products. So they took our 4 eggs, and turkey burgers.  Oh well thats the way it goes, guess we should have checked the website first. We had no fresh fruit or veggies, other than lettuce, celery, onions and carrots, but they are allowed. And the usual no goat or lamb allowed. Pork, beef, fish no problem.
short line up at customs
After the customs thing we good to go. Filled up our coach and car with gas $2.46 a gallon. Took 60 gallons (226. litres) total. And at a 30% exchange rate for Canadian funds worked out to .84 cents a litre  compared to around $1.20 a ltire in Ontario we saved 36 cents a litre. $ 81. 00 on this fillup alone ! Now that paid for our trip here and back again. Gotta love it ! Not a big deal that we lost $15.00 worth of food at the border is it? Shoulda check first.
Checked into Lazy Lakes Resort about 1:30 pm and rain almost stopped.
Lazy Lakes
nice large campsite, no trees ,
just the way we like it.
Then I made quick trip to Top's grocery store for a few food items and back home to relax for a while and whip up supper.Couple chicken legs and thighs added to our salad an we good to go.
We had pretty strong sw wind so I set up my wind break for the Q and all was good.
my homemade wind break I made a few years ago
huge (monster) chicken pieces ,
yep we had left overs
sure hit the spot
Now after supper a walkabout and drive around the park, relax outside in this lovely mild weather then time to head inside for the night, hmm 9 pm already !
Was a fun day for us, love the travel days. We gonna have lots more in the near future to. We are both looking so forward to that.
Glad you took the time to take a peak again, to see what we up to. Thanks for stopping by.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Spring and Summer.

  1. Over here at border in Maine gas is 2:56/gal, a little lower around Bangor. We never fill in NB. No gas station on our island.
    Happy stay in NY!

    1. That sure makes it much more affordable, gotta love the fuel prices here.

  2. Just head south from there, and come visit us near Pittsburgh.

    1. Would love to, but we heading back to Ontario next week, get ready for our trip out west. looks like We will end up in Arizona later this winter though, maybe then.

  3. Food restriction lists are constantly changing at the border.
Be Safe and Enjoy your Vacation.

    It's about time.

    1. Yes they are just forgot to check it out this time.

  4. Nice change to head out and into one of your member parks for a week. Too bad about the border entry check....and the loss of turkey burgers. I don't get that! But, it is what it is.

    1. It is nice to get away somewhere different for a change.
Like you said it is what it is, no sense worrying about it.

  5. Welcome back to the good ole USA.
