Grand Bend Flea Market, Tavistock Family Reunion, and Stratford watching shock hockey, too much fun.

Where are we today ?
A little cooler this morning and feels like rain. But no big deal we have stuff to do and rain will not affect us.
So shortly after 9 am headed off to the Pinery Fleamarket again in Grand Bend. A place we enjoy on Sundays when in the area. Main reason again was to exchange a few more books, not that we need any but have 12 that we have read so John gave us 8 more free ones to add to our Library. It will be a while before we get back here again, not sure when though later this summer.
We do enjoy the sites, sounds and smells at this market on the bush. Always something new here too.

A new busker today
have not seen this guys before, he's pretty good

In the corner parking lot at the rear was a cruise day for old Ford Trucks and below are a few pictures of my favorites.
Ford bus converted to an RV
From here into the town of Grand Bend and cruised down the main street to the beach. All the clothing store and food vendors and lotsa traffic. Not really a beach day today with the cool overcast weather so no huge traffic jams.

Then out of town passed Four Seasons Performance and spotted this Winnie the Bago here on the lot. Looks like a great deal for someone, right Al and Kelly?
Now from Gand Bend to Tavistock for Suzie's Stere family reunion at the memorial Hall. Arrived here about noon.
As with most reunions its a lot of fun seeing people you have not seen for a while and this one is a pot luck lunch. So much food to choose from too. I counted about 165 people here this year.
I only got to sample a bit then was full
this is the lineup for lunch, buffet  begins in the top centre
The line moves quickly and everyone feed with plenty for seconds if you have room.

But then we have the desert tables as well so save room
Suzie does a lot of Genealogy work and has produced a couple of huge binders to share with people and is a contact for all those with email. We did sneak out of there at 3:30 to head off to Stratford arena. Two Grandsons playing Shock Hockey at 4 pm. This hockey training for the young players small teams of 3 on 3 or 4 on 4 to give these guys fast action ice time. Every minute the buzzer goes, and they change with four other players. Very fast moving and fun to watch. These guys sure got a work out.
4 on 4 they get a good workout
After the game we visited with them for a while and chatted with daughter number two and the boys, was a very nice visit. Now we all busy so we headed back to Arkona (about an hours drive) and they head back home, school tomorrow.
nice drive head west over the rolling hills

From morning to night we had a fun fulfilling day. Needless to say no supper tonight after a such a great potluck lunch.
Glad you could take the time to stop by again and hope your Sunday was wonderful too.

  2. I know about those genealogy binders, boxes and collections. Thank goodness for computers now and scanners. We used to have boxes and boxes of documents but not anymore. I'm not sure where we'd put it if we did. That flea market sure looks like there's lots of stuff to go through. Looks like you're having the time of your life too.

    1. As you know Genealogy can be all consuming, Years of research, scanning and entering data can reduce many boxes and easily shared with many.

    1. It was fun the the fleamarket is just a fun place for a walkabout, don't usually buy much, other than a few deals on books.

  6. What a jam-packed day you two had. 165 people at the reunion!!! Wow...what a success that was. I am sure many were very happy to look at Suzy's binders. What a great way to keep the family history alive.
