A productive day enjoying more wonderful weather. Our coach is feeling better too.

Where are we today ?
Yep we liking this weather. Up early as usual coffees, computing, walkabouts then secure our coach to take to Pettigrew's Garage in town for service at 8 am.  First thing Dale is right on it, check out our rear brakes, lots of brake pads and the possibility of the one callipers slightly sticking but all looks good, we will keep an eye on things there but should be good.
Brakes check out ok
Next check our generator out. The fuel pump is working but no fuel?  So he gets out his smoke machine to check the fuel line to the main tank. It will tell us if there is a leak. No fuel line leaks ?
the smoke machine
We have about 1/2 a tank of fuel, think maybe it is not picking up the gas from the tank? It should work until 1/4 tank. So when lube and oil was done I ran down the road to the Flying J to fill our gas tank. Tried genny again no luck? Check oil level on genny and its down a tiny bit. So back to camp awesome in Plattsville added a 1/3 of a quart of oil and guess what? Generator fired right up? Not sure what we did but it ran for an hour under load, both Air conditioners on and electric hot water heater, no problem. Not sure what we did but its working now.
So there, service done, brakes checked out and generator working. Just waiting for the part so I can fix our electric step and we are good to go again, yippee!!
We had all the service done by noon and set up again at camp awesome. Still not raining again, (supposed to rain all day, but looks like yesterday's thunderstorms that were non-existent.) Thats really good cause now I can hop on FERRIS and begin mowing some lawn. My favourite fun thing that I do here (well other than cooking and reading). Well in 90 minutes I got about 1/3 of the 5 acres done time to stop now have things to do.
hey thats me!
nice smelling Lilacs near the back on the lot
Stopped mowing at 3:30 in time to run to New Hamburg to vote at the early voting Polls. Two reasons, one we won't be here on election day and second we like to confirm our residence here in Ontario by making a showing at the polls.
Back in time to fire up our Weber Q. Tonight Portobello Mushroom burgers and Bushes baked beans quick and easy.
Portobello Cheese burgers
one of the best burgers I have ever had
Supper done then to the arena, grandson number 4 is playing Ball hockey so just have to go. When we are in the area.
When we are down in southern California we see a saying on a lot of vehicles with signs saying "GOT SAND" because a favorite past time is playing in the sand dunes with their dune buggies etc.... Well this is Canada and no desert here but we do have a lot of hockey rinks. So the big thing is hockey and have seen this sign on quite a few vehicles.
After the Ball Hockey they stopped back at our place for a nice visit. So nice to see everyone again.
That was our fun productive day, hope yours was nice as well. Thanks for stopping by.

  1. It definitely was a very productive day for you. It sounds like you got a lot done and even had nice weather to boot. Glad the generator is now running again. That can be an expensive fix so it looks like you made out on that one.

  2. The low oil switch has caused more than a few unexpected shutdowns and starting failures. Yours might be just a little extra sensitive.

I love those Portobello Mushroom burgers but we cannot find them in any of our stores any more. It is nice to know they still exist so I can get on our grocery store manager to bring them in.

  3. Well that was a full day. The burgers sound wonderful and I liked that you cooked your beans right in the can (slightly opened of course) but I'd have it the burger myself....Joe doesn't do mushrooms of any sort.

  5. It's nice you have a competent repair person. Nothing worse than having a repair done and have to keep taking it back. Been there, done that.

  7. I don't think you two could have stuffed another thing in that day.

I LOVE the smell of Lilacs. I like to cut them and bring them in the house. Seems to get all the winter odors out of the air...lol

  9. It's good that manufacturers build in safety guards to protect machinery. That's a serious mowing machine you're on.
