Where do the days go? We always have stuff to do.

Where are we today ?
Not too bad last night down to 6c (42f) and got all the way up to 12c (53f) today. And it was almost a nice day. A bit cloudy with some very welcome sunny periods, and bit of rain here and there.
Took a nice drive to visit Ma this morning stopped for a coffee and dropped off a bunch of books that we had read, hopefully she will enjoy them. She asked me to put out her garden hose, but we both quickly forgot about that, I remembered by the time I got back to Plattsville. No problem Ma I will be back again and put the hose out for you soon. Its a nice leisurely drive to Ma's, 25 kms (15 miles) mostly nice farmland. Ma reads our blog everyday.
nice country drive
heading into Plattsville
A quick bite for lunch then Suzie was off to the dentist in New Hamburg, having her very first tooth pulled. Not fun stuff but thats life. It was quite nice here for a while and I walked down by the river to check the rising water levels from the rain, is flowing pretty good right now, a few more feet before we are flooded out. Its been over 60 years since that happened. And that was when they had a dam here in town to power the millrace for the feed mill in town.
just up the road from us
When Suzie returned we had a bit more sunshine and were able to enjoy reading outside for a while. But alas the clouds returned and a cold drizzle forced us back inside. I will try to continue reading inside. I'm into another good James Patterson book (Mistress) that I don't want to put down (love reading his books), suspense, action, thriller, murder mystery and a fast paced page turner.
working on this book right now
I had been searching for a very long time for a propane adapter to hook onto our Extend a stay adapter on our coaches propane tank to allow me to hook up two accessories at the same time without having to constantly disconnect one or the other. I finally found one on the internet in California for $69.00 but with shipping, exchange, tax and duty it would be pretty expensive. So I fired off an email to our Rv dealer that we deal with Sicards Rv  (Parts guy Jeff Intini) and he has one in stock, right here in Ontario only $44.16  plus tax and shipping only $66.85 now thats a pretty good deal. I guess I could have saved $15.00 by driving there to pick it up 90 minutes each way, but not really cost effective.
this is the adapter we are looking for,
and they have it in stock
By the way Sicards is where we purchased our coach back in May 2006 from Larry Vanstone who has become pretty good friends along with his wife Marilyn. They are now full time Rver's as well as bloggers. The Amazing Vanstones, we followed them down to Mazatlan Mexico in the fall of 2009 and have met a few times here and there in various campgrounds around North America. Even though Larry has been retired a few years he still spends the summer months in Ontario doing what he loves to do, selling Rv's (actually helping people buy the rv of their dreams is how he sees it) at Sicards. If you need a good RV sales person or just want to ask him a few questions he is the man to contact in our opinion he is top notch!
So a nice afternoon reading and relaxing gonna whip up supper. Yesterday at the store a found a package of these excellent pork ribs on sale, less than half price( $4.79) and could not turn them down. Just need to heat up in the oven. Another easy supper. And so very tender and tasty too.
pretty good deal, I like deals
Today was another one not really great for our Weber Q, raining off and on and kinda too windy again to put out our awning. No problem we do have our propane oven and just love it, we are almost dry camping with only a 15 amp electrical hookup and no water and sewer. Love our Mr Heater, when needed.
Now is this another easy meal or what? Pop the Honey Garlic ribs in the oven for 25 minutes, boil up a couple taters, frozen peas and a bit of sauerkraut.
sure hit the spot
Not a bad day at all, got a few things done, visit Ma, Suzie had a tooth pulled, a few more chapters in our books and are nice and comfy in our house.
Hot and sunny would be nice, but it is only May 1st and we are in Canada eh!
Thanks again for stopping in for a look see, hope y'all had a great day too.

  1. Ouch.. tell Suzie we hope she's doing okay. It was only 33 degrees F. here this morning... you folks are doing better there than you would if you were still here. I, too, love James Patterson's books. That one will be on my list. We're heading out tomorrow... will be good to be on the road again.

  2. Soon some of the good weather happening out west, will make it's way here and all will be good again! Hope Suzie is feeling better soon.
We have certainly been putting our new Mr. Heater through it's paces since we bought it, and so far all is good!

  4. We bought a Y connector for the propane tanks at Camping World but haven't hooked it up yet. At least if the temperature only reaches 53, you aren't running your air conditioner all day long. It was 96 here and that's way too hot for me.

    1. I had checked a few camping worlds and did not find it.
No running air here with a 15 amp service.

  6. I'm with you on the James Patterson books and I'm sure you also read Jeffrey Archer. Good good nail biters. :) I switch between hard copy books and my kobo. Have 115 books downloaded 'free' (my kind of price) to read and still adding. Sometimes nicer than a real book simply because of a lap dog who lays his head on the pages!
Enjoy another wet day, George, hopefully there is relief aka SUNSHINE coming!

  10. I don't know anyone who enjoys visiting the dentist. That said, I hope Suzie's experience was pain free and quick. I have my own visit with the dentist this past week - a regular check up and cleaning - and I always look forward to getting the heck out of there ASAP.
