Doggie day care and struck it rich with a huge donation of books!

Where are we today ?
Kinda cool this morning and overcast 11c (55f) and got to 16c (64f) and really not too bad when the sun was shining and we were out of the wind.
We said goodbye to our friends Emile and Monique as they headed out this morning up the road about 90 minutes to Goderich a nice membership park and a very pretty town on Lake Huron.
After they left we headed up the hill to Ron and Loree's to pick up Freddie. We dog sitting today! And everyone knows Suzie loves dogs. We have met Freddie a few times here and there and he is one great dog. Only 2 1/2 years old and a very frisky, big puppy. But he does settle down and even listens to us too.
yes Freddie I am coming too
back down the hill to our site
good dog
even explored our house too
Then as the day progressed Suzie managed to brush a whole mess of his winter coat off and get a few knots out too.
This afternoon our friends Rich and Marylou stopped in with couple of large boxes of books (83 in total) we went through them and managed to pick out 22 that we have not read. Not is that a deal or what? Gave the rest to Ron and Loree and what they don't want will take to the library here in the clubhouse.
our book haul today was awesome, 22 free books !
then with a nice sunny warm afternoon
we enjoyed reading for a while too.
Freddie watching us read, after 4 long walkabouts
the resort for him, waiting for Mom and dad
he is so excited when they returned
They sat and chatted with us for a short Happy hour then headed back home with Freddie. Doggie daycare done for today and was a fun experience.
Time for supper and tonight had a craving for spaghetti so whipped that up. Real hard to do that on our Weber Q. So inside with pots and pans. And a small tossed salad.
sure hit the spot
Supper done and still a warm sunny evening. Dart night, but we would rather enjoy this wonderful weather while we can. Reading some more is our passion.
Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings, nothing exotic but this is what we enjoy.

  1. I bet if Freddie could talk he would say a huge thank you to Suzie. I bet he feels so good to get rid of some of that hair.

    1. Actually Freddie did talk to us quite a bit while she was brushing, so cute, but we don't understand dog that well.
Have never heard a dog talk as much as he does, not barking either, just like he is trying to talk to us.

  2. How do you remember all the books you haven't read? Freddie probably is going to hate to see Suzy go. With all the attention and brushing he's getting, he may try to stow away!

    1. Suzie has an Access data base 12 pages of authors and books we like, dislike and books we have read, no way we could remember them all. it is printed off and updated frequently. Freddie know who his mom and dad are.

  3. Great score on the books. I also keep a file by Author etc. on my computer in order to keep track of the books I've read.

    1. Impossible to remember every book we have read, so the list sure works great!

    2. Always enjoy seeing the books you get. I was glad to see the one that I've read, "The Executioners" by John D. MacDonald. I loved that book. I collected all his books in paperback and had a very hard time letting them go when we downsized everything so that we could go full time. I keep track of the books I've read through goodreads web site. One fun thing to do is to compare the books that you've read with other individuals. They have a "compare" button that you click to see what books you have in common with the individual you want to compare yourself to. Pretty interesting. All free too. Your spaghetti looked great!

  5. I'm trying real hard to get caught up on reading (and commenting) on all my favorite blogs... it's a bummer not having very good (that's being kind) internet service here. I'd have enjoyed going through that box of books.... woohooo! what a treasure trove!

  6. Sure wish you were closer to us, would love to have a dog sitter from time to time. NIce idea to donate the rest of the books to the library at the Park.
